I was looking at about 170 miles at half a tank, which is about 30 less than usual. No super aggressive driving and a lot of highway. I'm leaning towards the winter mix now. The exhaust doesn't smell rich at idle... so idk. I'll start with the valve cover gasket on Friday and work my way...
I think I'm just going to take a shot in the dark and assume that the upstream O2 sensor is going out and I'm going to replace it. Plus, I'm not sure if it has ever been changed, so it couldn't hurt.
On top of that, I think I have found my oil leak. There seems to be a lot of "gunk" on the...
Ok, help time... my fuel mileage is taking a s*** on me.
Could it be:
-O2 sensor(s) starting to fail? I'm getting a voltage reading that peaks around .8V on what I think is the upstream sensor, but drops down to .1V regularly. It doesn't hold at either. What I think is the downstream sensor...
Sad... I love the little growl the 2.0 gives off. Or, maybe it's just mine and I have a problem. Either way, the sound is decent. I just need some CA$$$$$$$HHHHH to project that sound out the back end.
Gotta love shotty workmanship. I really don't know why I even got the antenna for my P5... I don't even use the radio... ever, and when I do the reception suuuuuucks. It's either my iPod or Pandora. Hopefully I'll be getting the AppRadio2 soon and won't have to worry about reading the tiny...
Replaced the PCV valve yesterday and topped off the oil. I don't smell any oil yet, but we'll see what happens over the weekend.
And a correction, the P5 has over 135K. I've put 14K on her since February. Love my car!
I think I have an oil leak somewhere. There's none on the driveway, but I smell it when I'm driving (not burning, no blue smoke) and she was a bit low today when I checked it. I wasn't able to get under her to check, but I don't think I'll find anything without pulling out manifolds and such...
I feel so bad that I haven't been able to touch my P5 other than for gas. She needs a wash and wax before the snow flies, tires, and an oil change before Christmas. No money for the latter two and no time to wash before it's too cold to do so. Crunch time!
Damn! I was hoping I wouldn't have to resort to the harness. I guess I'm glad I bought it with the kit... just in case.
As for the plugs being loose... I found out that the female side or the 9006 plug from the bulb has actually been expanding, causing one of my bulbs to go out intermitantly...
Put $25 in the tank and washed the windows at the local petrol pump. Came to realize it's time to give her one more good bath and wax before winter hits hard. Probably getting done over Thanksgiving break... probably not though. This college crap can end any time now... you know, with the...
I frequently use a single stand when doing brake work. However, I use the rims AND the jack as backup on the side I'm working on. My torso is wider than the rim, so I don't trust it to save me from injury, just death. Haven't had a stand fail yet though. Hell, my '95 Protege sat on 4 stands...
If she's not going to be run until April, or even a few times before then, 10W I assume would be fine. Plus, if she's in a garage it will be even better for the 10W.
Do you know the exact code for the CEL? I just read the codes from the Torque app Googled it. Turned out to be the VICS...
