It's called "Torque." I love it! It should be compatible with just about any Bluetooth OBDII device... even the cheap ones. As for the app, don't even bother with the free version. It's less than bare minimum. Spend the $4.99 and unlock all of the features.
I'm still working out the...
Well THERE'S the problem...

No more rattle. I'll consider...
I'm still baffled at how little rust my car has. Small spots on the rear wheel wells and one behind the "Protege5" emblem on the back, but nothing all the way through and nothing through the paint.... yet. However, I think this winter will prove me wrong.
Yes, we have a misunderstanding. While I live in northwest Indiana, my P5 is shockingly not rusted to dust. This is the first sign of "major" rust damage I've encountered in the 7 months that I've owned her. All of the other shields are intact with minimal rust. There are some other small...
Allow me to rephrase... the budget comment was aimed at Your car still has heat shields?. Thank you was an honest response. I'll tackle the shield later this week. I wanted to make sure I was about to be forced into buying a whole new cat just to get rid of an annoying rattle.
In other news...
The heat shield around my cat is rattling. It's only at a moderate idle or low acceleration, basically between idle and about 1500 rpm. Can I just take off the shield for now? Inputs...
Mere stepping stones, but she's my baby. Just rolled over 130k miles last week. She's due up for an oil change in the next few weeks, so I'll use that as an excuse to clean up the engine bay. Again, this is just the beginning. Hopefully I'll have some new wheels and a lower stance in the...
Got my new VICS/VTCS (which ever one is Bank 1) solenoid yesterday and got it swapped out today. Took her out for a few high RPM runs, ran the CEL check... NO CODE!!!! $72 well spent... sadly. Already detailed the outside, getting ready to do the inside. Then is photo shoot day. HOPEFULLY...
Ended up buying a new EGR vacuum solenoid today. I kept throwing a P0660 (Bank 1) CEL code over the past few days. I also took this as an excuse to buy new tools... even though no tools are "needed." You never know, right? Win/win I guess.
Taking some photos Sunday to update the look.
Cholland: those wheels are sexy. Kudos!
FINALLY got her washed and waxed. First time waxing... didn't turn out too bad IMO. I'll have pics tomorrow when the sun is nice and high.
Greased the connections on the VTCS solenoids (per Cleverfrog's suggestion) and it knocked me down to one CEL code: P0660 (Bank 1). I'm assuming this means the solenoid is in fact shot. Other than that, I finished mounting the passenger side HID ballast. Doesn't look too bad now! :)
I haven't been able to touch anything on the car besides the accelerator. Summer classes are kicking me in the face. But, nevertheless I have some small projects lined up for the 2 weeks I have off.
-delete rear wiper (dead motor anyways)
-BaveB Rings
-Wash/Wax
-Oil Change (I probably won't...
