On the p5 I believe the pegged temp gauge was caused by the Room fuse down in the kick panel.
I had an issue where the car would shut off when driving and/or not starting. That was the crank position sensor wiring rubbed thru the sheathing and 1 of the wires. It was behind the ps unit so it was...
The heat shield can rattle and can be remedied by either bending it away or removing it. But the rough idle is another issue. Start with a plug change. That will also let you know if the engine burns oil as the cylinder specific plugs will be oily. If you still get the misfire code replace the...
What year is it? Is it turbocharged? Has it had regular maintenance? Mileage?
1st off would be to replace the sparkplugs. If that doesnt fix it then also replace #4 coil on plug. That should clear the misfire code. Then check the air intake tube for cracks and vaccuum lines too. Those are...
+1 for factory mazda wheels. I’m running 17" miata wheels off an ‘07ish. Light, look decent, already have the mazda center caps, and can be had pretty cheap on the forums. lol
I did this recently to "retire" a car to the state. The head gasket blew and it wasnt financially feasible to repair it. We used something that looked like it had copper flakes in it. After alot of research we did it because it only had to drive 10 miles and pass a visual inspection. It did that...
Need more details. Is there power inside the car? Does it turn over or try to start? Did you check the battery lugs are snug and all the fuses both inside the car and under the hood aren’t blown?
If you burn oil you’re just throwing money away. Synthetic where I like is like $8 or $9 a quart. Reg oil is like $4 or $5. If you’re burning it why keep spending more? Also there are alot of stories about oil leaks popping up when guys switch to a synthetic oil in a higher mileage engine. So if...
Not sure about year or engine size but i do know the 2.0 engines in the early 2000s have a tendency to burn oil. Sometimes a LOT. It seems the oil rings get gummed up on the pistons and the consumption begins. Guys have used seafoam in the oil per instructions to help clean up the sludge and...
I’m not sure the type of antenna you have but I do know that my sisters 2005 mazda 3 had a broken antenna and mount when she bought it. She got a used one and new antenna and the base broke again after the 1st wash.
It’s possible your antenna or where it screws onto the base could be damaged...
I damaged the plug end of an antenna cable once so thats what i remember but that is the extent of my stereo knowledge im sorry if it didnt help. If nobody else here can help maybe try a good stereo shop? Not one trying to sell you a new head unit but one that is willing to investigate?
It shouldnt. I would think there might be an issue with the antenna cable or a ground issue with the stereo. Has it ever been removed possibly to make repairs to the center console area?
I know on engines with spark plug wires if you use cheap wires it can cause radio interference. But the 2.3 engine in the cx7 has coils on plugs with no wires.
Is it a stock stereo? If not could be several things like the unit itself, a grounding wire, or damaged antenna/wire
How did that tensioner spring look after you adjusted the timing? My 1st timing belt job was done by a shop and they had stretched that spring to the point it wasnt providing much tension at all and caused the belt to slip a tooth. So needless to say i got to do the belt again not 3000k after it...
Thank you for the replies. This is for my sisters 3. I showed her the videos and if she wants to mod it she can give it a try. Shes gotta learn right? Lol
I had an issue when i first replaced all my mounts. I went with dea mounts. I believe the rubber is a bit harder than oem and also my rear mount seemed to sag after a few months causing the rubber to sit on the bottom half of the metal circle. This caused alot of vibes in the cabin. I went with...
Retrofitting projectors into the housings are night and day difference. I agree that hids should not be put into halogen housings tho as it throws light everywhere and turning them down defeats the purpose. I retrofitted mine because of the bulbs burning out quite often even when I used...
