A service advisor at a dealership told me the front-to-rear ratio was about 60-40, but I've read the 98-2 ratio as well, so I don't know what is the truth about Mazda AWD power engagement of all wheels.
The FWD CX-5's I've driven have all been 2016 model year.
Well, I suppose driving a 2019 CX-5 would be helpful to me understanding the difference between AWD and FWD. My assumption has been that power to all 4 wheels changes the drive characteristics and feel.
Mazda has a soft vinyl cargo mat which covers the rear cargo area (including the backs of the rear seats). It's a great product, better than the heavy duty rubber cargo area protectors.
When driving my 2019 CX-5 AWD it feels like there is a bit of "resistance" preventing the free flow of the wheels.
Golf carts have a governor (to prevent people from being able to drive too fast , especially on a downward slope) and the CX-5 AWD reminds me of that.
For comparison, my son's...
An Oil Change shop guy had his wrench set at 100 when rotating my 2019 CX-5 tires. The manual reads a range of 80-108.
Is the 100 the guy did too tight? If so, what is the negative of too much torque used?
Thanks,
DG
For leather a wipe down with warm water and soap every week or two is ideal. If you don't want to do that, a synthetic spray cleaner is better than nothing. The main thing to do for leather preservation is to keep it clean.
When you buy the CX-9 I suggest waiting at least 6 weeks before making any modifications (such as interior wood delete). My guess is that after a few drives your wife become accustomed to the look, maybe even like it.
Gwetting thrown around in the shot gun seat is not fun for her (or anybody else sitting next to you). Why not confine your aggressive-fast driving to when you are alone ?
Buy a CX-5 GT, which has great handling and plenty of power for a vehicle of its size/weight. Really a well balanced , great driving compact SUV.
I've been driving a CX-5's for going on 5 years in a city with steep hills as well as very congested freeway's, not once have I desired "more power"...
