If anyone is in the palm springs area of Cali I will be out at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway on the 19-21st running in the SCCA majors. Stop on by and say hello.

I haven't seen any of the new 2s here yet either. I'm sure there are some tooling around at Mazda's HQ for testing but I haven't heard of one on the show circuit.

I use BFG R1s tires. I try to carry as much speed as I can in corners much like autocross with the difference is the speeds are normally higher entering and exiting. Zach has a good point on something to look at. I have had to change my driving style running B-Spec to get to the place I am at...
I would if we were allowed in B-Spec. I have run the front brace when I was running the car in STL and you could notice the difference in the high g load corners.

If you get too much wheel speed on the spinning wheel and it drops on the ground hard enough, boom goes the diff. Limiting body movement helps quite a bit. In B-Spec we do not get much wheel spin unless you leave the ground (there are a few tracks this happens at if you cut corners enough) but...
I used one from a Mustang which looks to be the same as the Mazda 3 and the Focus of some generations. The key is it will have a hex instead of a spline attachment point.

I have had good luck with the AIM solo DL with a smarty cam to overlay data. I just need to get a second camera to overlay with the first and the data to analyze different lines my competitors use on the track from both sides of the equation.
