The OEM Toyo Tires are bad for snow driving. It's as simple as that. Mazda didn't put the BEST tires on the CX5 AWD. Swap them out and put on some good snow tires. The Continental's are way better in the snow and cost less than the Toyo's.
It's definitely NOT a stone. Sounds more like a creaking sound when coming to a complete stop.
I snugged down the caliper bolts which were already tight. I hit the rotors with brake cleaner so it can't be an oily rotor.
Hopefully it goes away because I would hate to take it to the stupid...
It just sounds weird and I never had any other vehicle do that. It's as if the pads are not gripping the rotors correctly and making a sound. No ABS is activating. It's more a rotor to brake pad noise and the CX5 doesn't stop as well as my Mazda3 did.
That's what is bothering me right now is...
So a 5x8 utility trailer with a steel mesh floor is the best value and design for the CX5 to tow?
What is the weight limit on the CX5 towing?
Tractor Supply has a 5x8 mesh floor trailer for $600 (2,000 GVWR - 400lbs for the trailer with 1,600 lbs payload capacity). It has a 1 7/8" coupler size
So the brake sounds, is that normal? How long or how many miles before it should go away?
I removed the rims and sprayed some brake cleaner on the rotors in case there was any grease or oil on them.
Depends on if you got the time and know-how.
For me I had the Mazda port do it once it got off the barge in L.A. For me it's not worth the $100 in savings to do it on my own. I would rather have the trained port installers do it and have it covered under warranty.
Was looking to get a small trailer to haul things like dimensional lumber and fence posts. Any recommendations that work well with the CX5 towing capacity?
Also, what is a good hitch to get? OEM or aftermarket?
I found this online. It's a CLASS III with a 2" ball from Curt Trailer Hitch for...
Preventative maintenance works best. Apply UV waxes to the headlights every few months, takes 5 minutes but will protect and prevent UV damage. Once damaged it requires sanding & polishing the lens with a high speed wheel to repair it.
Better to wax it ASAP. The CX5 is made in Japan, shipped on a carrier, and then depending where your dealership is. They put it on a car carrier (typically) but some have noted that they can be shipped by rail. If the latter is true, that is not good, as you will get rail dust on the paint. That...
Any updates??
Still waiting on the install because I don't want to find out the hard way that I needed a different part for the ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL.
I got the AWD and I put on better snow tires (still all season). I got the Continental True Contact tires and they have better snow traction than the Toyo A23 tires it comes with from the factory.
So what I am reading here is that some are claiming the AWD on the CX5 is "over rated" and not...
I got the Aries 3D mats in today. They fit perfectly and the lip issue on the gas pedal is really not a factor in my opinion. The mats fit tightly and I don't see an issue. They are great quality mats.
Brand new CX5 and I notice a slight burning smell around the engine compartment. Is this normal on a new engine? Smells kind of like oil.
I also notice the brakes were making a noise during braking and stopping and felt a little spongy. It went away after I drove around for a while. I will test...
Any updates as to whether or not the part #'s will work with the AUTO ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL? Don't want to move forward with the install if I have the wrong part #.
I ordered OEM Mazda door sill plate protectors from Amazon and they also did NOT come with templates. I just used my best judgment and online pics to get them installed. Just use blue painters tape to mark where it needs to go. It's not rocket science, just center it and make sure it doesn't...
