Glad everything is working out! I shot a pic of mine for comparison purposes. The garnish overlaps the bumper cutout by quite a lot. The shiny bits behind the garnish in my pic is actually the muffler

My CX-5 has the OEM hitch and bumper garnish. I crawled under mine and the cutout is similar to yours but is a precision cut that matches the garnish.

I don't know the exact color black they used, but it is basically a mirror finish on the grill... it does look like black chrome.

Sorry for the delay on replying. We actually just picked up the CX-5 today. Turned into a slight nightmare. Started out with the entire bumper cover needing replacement. It took a few days for the insurance company to see the car and approve the supplement. Once it was approved, the body shop...

Not yet... the entire bumper cover needed to be replaced since there was damage to the lower black plastic valence that was not included in the original estimate. It is all one piece. The adjuster had to look at the car before repairs could continue so we've been delayed a few days.

That was a tough decision... went body color because my aftermarket wheels are gunmetal and closely match the body paint. I can always wrap the grill if the body color doesn't look right.

I have to disagree somewhat on this. I had an X-Pel kit installed on my 2003 Wrx when I bought it new and it was on the car for 10 years when I eventually sold the car. The film did have a few nicks in it but they were way less noticeable than chips in the paint or plastic bumper cover. You...

Sorry to hear about your GX, but you definitely need to do that bumper upgrade. Our extra vehicle is a lifted 1998 4Runner that we bought new. I am shopping for new bumpers right now... so many choices! Only 170K on her so just barely broken in!
