I've been googling around trying to find a replacement bracket and filter (in the US) and don't see anything. I did find this site where a guy retrofitted a subie, and I think the procedure would be identical for us...
I too have been meaning to take a look at this. Did so at lunch today. Looks like USDM P5s *do* have a spot for it. You'd need to bust out some knockouts, and source the bracket and filters... Pic attached.
Wish I could help, but the gauge I just installed used the oil pressure adapter plate from Prosport. It didn't use the stock sender location. The Prosport sender is 1/8 - 27NPT.
...Come to think of it, I did take the stock sender out so that I could install a pressure gauge to test. I used...
I need 1 of the 4 nuts that hold the front strut bar on. I lost one. I'd be willing to buy all four if need be. Also interested in the black gauge bezel. Shipped to 46278. Let me know...
Well- I decided to go with the 2 gauges in the dash approach. A DIY jonridinhi pod, if you will. I haven't decided where to put the third gauge, but it's just a voltage gauge- not a big deal.
You did? Oh, you mean 4 different locations, but not necessarily grouped together. I see. I think I am still looking for a place to mount all three next to each other. I thoroughly dislike a-piller pods as well...
Thanks for moving it. I was looking at the dash as I drove home for lunch today, and yeah, I think it might be hard to get something on top. I forgot that there is a "hump" in the middle of the dash. If it was flat, or even an indentation- then it probably would be a lot easier to put a gauge...
Yeah, I'm familiar with the dash pods. They look really nice, but I just picked up 3 gauges, so that won't work. I'm surprised there isn't an existing manufacturer for these. I wonder if it is a clearance issue under the dash...
Has anyone ever created a custom center dash gauge pod for the P5? I've never taken the dash out, so I don't know what kind of clearances are available at the center of the dash. I am thinking about making something like this:
Anyone have any experience with this? Could you upload pics...
On a not-so-side note, the car is running GREAT! No more knock! Attached is a pic of the bad connecting rod bearing (#2 cylinder) and also the 1 main bearing that was slightly pitted/scored probably from a metal shaving. Overall, I got REALLY lucky. Note to self- check your oil stupid!!
