So this project has been roughly 8 years in the making. I finally rebuilt the doors to hold some JL ZR8 woofers. To do this, I had to first move the door speakers, so I rebuilt the a pillars to hold Focal 5 1/4" polyglass components. The sub in the headliner was built about 6 years ago and can...
Agree with everyone about rear speakers, I don't even run any. Go with a good set of speakers (that YOU like, nobody elses opinion matters) up front and a sub and be happy.
Hey all, considering selling my 03 p5 and getting a 10 cx7. Has anyone upgraded the turbo in theirs? From what I understand, it's got the same engine as the speed3 with a smaller turbo. Thanks for any input while I try to figure out my next vehicle.
I did this like 6 or 7 years ago. I used cheap ebay led strips, and the ended up burning out quickly, so i took them out and ended up doing a double hid prjector retro.
I have had the same problem for several years. My issue is usually only when it's rather warm out or humid (rainy). I have replaced master, and slave cylinders, completely flushed the liquids, new motor mounts (all of them at once), new shifter with poly bushings, all to no avail. Next thing i'm...
The red, red/white, and red/black wires are all your 12v wires, they can be tied together and go to the black 12v wire in the car. The pink is ignition which goes to the blue wire in the car. Purple is the starter wire and goes to the black/blue wire in the car. Orange is accessory and goes to...
What brand starter is it? And I'm assuming alarm/start combo. If you give me the model number I can try to find the install manual and tell you what needs to be hooked up where if thats what you need.
Black and black/white are 12v constant, black/blue is starter, blue is ignition, black/red and black/white are accessory. Locks are light green/red. unlock is negative trigger, lock is the same wire through a 1000 ohm resistor. parking lights are brown - or light green/black +. brake is...
not all of p5's had keyless, I believe. Mine was an addition, although a factory piece, not stock. Check in the drivers kick panel area for the brain. If you dont have one, I took mine out in favor of an aftermarket system. I would let you have it for cheap.
Thank you for the kind words, would love to see some pics of your install. I'm debating a major overhaul, including rebuilding the front doors to hold a couple 8" midbass speakers, or getting rid of the car and starting with a blank slate. Or rebuilding the system, then getting rid of it anyway...
If doing aftermarket radio, then just run the speaker wires from the amp to the radio harness and adhere to Mr. giggles suggestion and forget you've ever heard of t-taps. The factory wiring is just fine to use, unless you are using a very high powered amp or are going after high end sound...
