It was painted on the vehicle. We had the license plate holes filled and the bumper cover repainted as well. What is funny is that the body shop was supposed to paint the chrome piece Machine Gray, but they screwed up and painted it black (along with the lower accessory bumper trim piece)...

Looks great...no rubbing issues with the 255's? I have 245/20's on ours as the place I ordered our wheel/tire combo set from said the 255's would rub. My offset is also 35.
I've started deleting the chrome on ours...grille piece and lower bumper trim piece done so far. I have a buddy that owns a wrapping company, going to have him do the window trim and roof rails. Definitely makes it standout from the growing number of CX5's in our area! I also have 20" TSW's...
I previously had a 2016 SQ5 as my daily driver for 1 year and about 22K miles. The engine and power was fantastic but the transmission logic sucked and didn't match well with the engine output.
Our 2017 CX5 has a much better balanced powertrain than the previous gen SQ5 did. For the money...
I agree with this...while we have a Machine Gray CX-5, we had to have a new front bumper installed due to shrapnel from an accident that occurred in the lane next to my wife. The first time the body shop painted the bumper, the color didn't match...

Welcome and congrats!! This is the main reason we opted for our 2017 CX5. While it was a new model, the mechanicals are all proven. We test drove a 2017 CRV Touring before we bought the CX5 and my wife really disliked it. We are extremely happy with our decision and hope you will be too!
