I don't think there's anything wrong with the vehicles. My guess is that the dealership is not getting 2019 allocation if they don't get their 2018 inventory reduced to a certain level. Or, there is regional incentive that motivates the dealer to sell the vehicles at those prices.
Has anyone in the forum had the chance to actually test drive a 2018 and a 2019, back to back, to compare the suspension changes? The Australian reviews seems to favor the suspension changes. There was also a somewhat positive feedback on the steering. I was looking for Canadian reviews, since...
At the bottom of the video, it shows 'Traction Control: OFF' when the CX-9 completed the test. It failed when 'Traction Control: ON', per the video.
EDIT: Sorry, I read too quickly. Valid question on the 2016 test.
This. Our 2010 is about to reach 100k and this is my main concern. On average, the quotes I got from both a dealer and independent mechanic is around 2k. This is just to replace the water pump to mitigate replacing the engine should the water pump fail. And there is no guarantee that a new water...
Right. The coolant change is a given. But, if the water pump fails, doesn't that already mean the engine is also toast? If the water pump fails and is still replaceable without any harm to the engine, then it doesn't seem too bad. But if the failure causes coolant to leak into the cylinders...
So, I got a quote on replacing that water pump. Between an actual dealership and an independent mechanic that I use, it's going to cost $2K (on average) to replace that water pump. And people are doing this every 60-70K miles? That's insane. There's no guarantee that the water pump will not fail...
It's kind of sobering to find out that there's a ticking time bomb in the 1st gen CX-9s. I called around and got quotes of around $2K to replace the water pump just to mitigate engine replacement once the water pump goes. I think it's time to part ways with our CX-9. It's been a good car, but...
When does the water pump need to be replaced? I have another older vehicle with a timing belt and I had that replaced at 80K miles per vehicle maintenance schedule. At that time, I also had the water pump replaced. The CX-9 has a timing chain and I haven't replaced it yet (or does it need to be...
"Eleven vehicles, including the Mazda CX-9 and the Jeep Cherokee, had zero driver deaths between 2012 and 2015." per Mini and small cars have highest traffic deaths rates, IIHS report says. The actual IIHS report is ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Higher driver death rate is a downside of economic recovery.
You CAN have the windshield tinted using clear film. I had our 2010 CX-9's windshield tinted with Llumar Air Blue when we bought it back in 2010 when we still lived in Florida. Llumar might call it differently now but it's likely the same or similar product. It does make a huge difference. A...
Yup, seems like it, to the detriment of the CX-9. I hope that someone from Mazda's engineering team has seen the video and is able to make the necessary software adjustments to the i-ACTIV AWD system to address this.
Wow
The video shows the i-ACTIV AWD diagonal and offroad tests were not as expected.

For comparison, here are the CX-3 and CX-5 tests.

As much as this feature has been admonished for its absence, I have to say that it was a deal-breaker for me. I'm not sure if they fixed this for 2017, but I haven't heard anyone confirming that it was added back.
I anxiously wait for the VW Atlas.
