i could have waited until it starts to make noise or rattle and thats what my dealership advised me,they said it leaks but never really fail. but i cant drive knowingly there is a malfunction in my car. with two little kids i need to know the car is safe and relible.

the pre fill is an old subject,bottom line it cant hurt to pre fill but there is 500k engines out there that didnt so its not crucial.

non,my original one was 31k miles and almost 4 years old,it was sweating not really leaking,the car is the same noise wise as before.

Go with a heavy 30w like m1 esp, motul x clean ex or a lighter 30w like the amsoil ss which has a noack of 6 which is very low.

Even though I had a slight sweat and not really a leak, I decided to change it, can't afford getting stuck with 2 small kids in the car.

I hear you both and agree but what my main concern is if a leaky/faulty tensioner can cause any damage to other parts.is that the case or it can only cause squeaks? tnx.

will do,sent a pic to my mechanic he said it does leak and advised me to replace it only if it starts to squeak.should i wait until it does or to go ahead and do it now,any risks with leaving it like it is now?tnx
