Thanks. Not sure how the edge of the rim caught the curb because it seemed that I had just gone up and down over it. Just killed me with only ~400 miles on her!
Thanks. I would like to get rid of the OEM Toyo as soon as possible. On our 2018 cx5 they became really noisy after 25K miles. Tire rim protection would have likely helped.
I'll keep a watch on the tire...I have seen sidewall bubbles form in the past but only on goodyear tires.
The black touch...
Here are three pics. Damage is on the left side of the rim. Not sure how the curb caught it there since I went over and then down the curb. This is after some black touch up paint:
Just want to pass along that I used this Universal Black touch up paint from Autozone for the black rims on our 2024 CX5 Carbon Turbo and it matched really well...
So was driving our new 2024 CX5 Turbo Carbon Edition with black wheels and went over a curb at 5 mph. Gouged out a small chunk at the edge of the rim on the passenger front. (since it only had 400 miles on it, I went nuts!)
Seems to drive fine but do you think going over a curb would throw off...
I know our 2018 cx5 had this when it was cold out right after first starting it but then resolved as the car warmed up (or at least was less noticeable)
We just moved from a 2018 to a 2024 Turbo Carbon. Noticed everything you mentioned above plus the drive is quieter, the heads-up display is really useful, and the ventilated seats will come in handy during out hot South Carolina summers. Acceleration is much improved with the Turbo as expected...
We had a 2018 CX5 NA 2.5 L and now a 2024 CX5 Turbo. Pleased with both and no issues. My only concern with the NA 2.5 engine is it is not clear if they ever fixed the design flaw in the Head which have been known to crack. (supposedly the Turbo head issue was fixed with a redesigned).
I'd also...
Thats what I plan to do...use premium when around town and not driving much and use 87 on long trips! But always Top Tier Gas.
Now if I can just figure out how to get the most out of Android Auto I'll be all set!
