I been trying to hard wire my dash cam using power from the fuse box. Specifically I am taping off the 3rd fuse from the top which is meant for the rear power outlet.
I plugged in a fused (2amp) mini ATC wire and have it spliced into a 12v DC converter to USB. With the ignition turned on, I...
You are lucky, I had a '02 S2000 that needed a quart of oil every 1k miles... (apparently a common issue with the early engines from '00-'02. Its less if you drive it like grandma but then why bother owning a 9k rpm engine car?
Also had a '01 VW Jetta 1.8T that had a leak somewhere in the...
Hi folks,
Recently purchased the Mini 0803 dash cam from Amazon for about $120. I'm currently sourcing the necessary materials to do the hardwire install.
Just wanted to know what size fuse people were using in their hardwire setups. I have an old 2amp fuse that I used for my Valentine 1...
I have 30K on my Toyo's. I would say I shoud be able to get another 10K miles before I need replacement. But I will prob change it earlier (before the start of winter).
Any suggestions on 19" tire replacements?
Thanks! I saw the writeup before and totally forgot about it. Next issue is what folks are using for the 12v to 5v (USB) conversion. There are a number of ways to go about it so I'm curious which is the more ideal.
Just an FYI, I found a pretty good link on hardwiring any USB powered dashcam.

For those who have already hardwired their cams, please chime in with feedback re: the hardwire process! I am curious to know which fuse you tapped as well.
That appears to be more discreet however I prefer to leave my rearview in place given the fact I have the homelink and autodiming functions on it. The Mini 0801 should be small enough not to be easily seen by most ppl in my opinion. Do you have pics of yours installed by any chance?
Very ncie folks! I think the mini 0801 was on the top of my list as a friend of mine did some extensive research and said it had the best quality to price ratio...

I was considering the 2-channel blackvue model (a bit pricey and a pain to install) but I think having a front/rear camera would be very helpful.

There have been 1-2 people I have spoken to online about installing a dash cam. Just wondering if anyone else can chime in on : dash cam model used, installation tips, and or placement.
For those of you who wonder what its good for , check out youtube and type in "russian dash cam".
Thanks!
Sorry to hear about what happened, did you claim it on insurance?
