My first tank results; 285.3 miles - 10.53G - 27.1 mpg - Probably 80% city driving. One oddity, the mpg on the dash display for the first time ever matched the pump calculation exactly.
Could be, I've only put around 230 miles on it so far. Maybe that's why the radio sounds better!
The 2.0L was not the most aggressive sounding thing I've ever driven. The 2.5L sounds better but I have yet do a full throttle acceleration next to a wall with the windows down on the pass side...
Got a new Touring on Monday 9/15. Turned in my 2013 Touring. Some thoughts. They have moved the advanced door locking system from the GT down to the Touring. Very handy. The shifter has done away with all the gates, it is now just a straight shot from Park back to Drive, with the manual off...
With my 2013 Touring a light lift of the foot on the accelerator pedal always causes an upshift. Not sure about 5th, or 6th gear because the shift is relatively un-noticeable compared to the first four gears, at least on level ground while accelerating at a reasonable speed.
Maybe it is because I have started seeing similar colors from other manufacturers. Having said that I still really like my Sky Blue Mica CX5. It is one of those rare colors that looks good in sunlight, on cloudy days, and at night under lights. It even holds dirt pretty well, in the sense...
I have used Auto Bell car washes here in Charlotte once a month on 4 cars over a 12 year period with no damage or complaints, and no, I don't work for them.
2013 Touring - June 30, 2012 - 15,876 miles - No shakes, or vibration in mirrors, or hood. Slight rattle in dash when cold. Average MPG for this period is 28.8, figured manually.
Tried it several times today. If you move it to manual while keeping your foot on the throttle it will stay in 6th, however if you let up on the throttle it will shift down to 5th when you move it. There weren't any big hills so I couldn't try atitus's comment about hills.
"When I say I disable it, what I mean is I disabled if from coming on automatically."
TreyP, I agree with you 100% in this. When you figure out how to do this, could you post it. I sure would appreciate it.
I think that Mazda software takes command of the Ipod when it is plugged in. I know that it is very cumbersome to look for a specific album, artist, especially if one has a lot on the Ipod. I have over 10,000 songs. We usually disconnect it, start what we want to hear, then plug it back in...
After 15,300 miles, my fuel average is 28.7 figured out at the pump. The on-board computer is always around 2.0 mpg high. I drive up to Ohio several times a year from Charlotte, NC which involves many hills in Virginia, and West Virginia, otherwise I believe my average would be over 30...
I have had my CX-5 for 15 months now, and have had no issues, hood, mirrors shaking, nothing. We love it. My wife says that of all the cars we've had this is her favorite one to drive. One of my neighbors recently got a new Cherokee in black, and I like it's looks. Maybe the black mellows...
I believe you will use more gas when you slip the trans into neutral when approaching a traffic light. When you totally let up on the throttle, the engine is being turned over by the drive-train, and virtually no fuel is being used. Conversely when slipped into neutral for the same situation...
I drive from Charlotte NC to Dayton OH several times a year. There are a lot of hills in Virginia, and West Virginia. I don't have to do anything. It'll shift down to 5th, then 4th if it needs to on it's own, with a steady foot on the throttle. Could there have been some changes to the...
