Let's see how the Regal TourX does. Wagons are a tough sell in the US; Subaru and Volvo have been able to survive with the SUV type wagons. I'd certainly consider it over an Outback; definitely over the Regal. Volvo is at a higher price point, so it's not really competition. Put the CX-9's...
If your DRLs aren't on when your lights are in AUTO, something is wrong. Most people would just leave their lights in AUTO, and I see too many Mazdas on the road with their DRLs on for it to be the case that DRLs are off even with lights in AUTO. By contrast, many Toyotas have a DRL/OFF...
I'm assuming this is hit and run?
I wouldn't go to the Mazda dealer. I'd go to a local body shop--unless your Mazda dealer has their own body shop, which most dealers don't, they are just going to farm it out anyway. Any body shop will give you a free estimate on the spot; you just tell them...
It's 100% profit. They put your name, SS#, address, etc, into the computer in 5 mins, and the software spits out the paperwork; it's not like someone in a back room with a typewriter and carbon paper, filling out forms in triplicate. "Doc fee" in any setting is just at total ripoff.
I don't think OP had the issue; I though OP just cross posted someone else's complaint.
I had a Lexus affected by the Toyota recall. After they installed the electronic brake override, if you even slightly tapped the brake pedal while simultaneously pressing the gas, the car slowed down noticeably.
Unintended acceleration has been disproven over and over. There is absolutely 0% chance that the poster "slammed" on the brake and the car kept accelerating.
They will not do this, and I would suspect, cannot legally do this if they want to sell that car as new. Unless, perhaps, we were talking about floor mats.
I'm not saying the battery shouldn't last. But just because it's a year old doesn't mean that it can't be a battery issue. Sometimes, parts are defective.
You hold the key fob to the start button if the battery in the fob is dead. If the fob battery isn't your issue, that won't help. And jump starting wouldn't matter.
If your car would only start if you jumped it, then it sounds like the car battery is the issue. Should it last more than 1...
I have an F30, so I'm not on the E90 forums. I don't know if the E90 folks are any different than the F30 members, but frankly, it's not any different than I've seen on Lexus forums when I owned one, or Cadillac when I was cross-shopping an ATS.
Taking a photo or video of the problem, like you did, is always a good bet to keep the dealer from saying "We couldn't replicate the problem." You can just show them.
But why is there such a backlog on the part? Is this a widespread issue? I haven't seen it posted here before.
Every dealer is different, but I have the same situation with my '12. The dealer I bought from is about 50 miles from my house; they offer free annual state inspection (as to many other dealers when you buy from them). But it's not worth it.
BUT--once I took my car to the dealer closest to my...
Hey--just helping you out. All your very official sounding engineering speak isn't really going to be too credible if you can't even spell "braking", right?
You're welcome. ;)
