Thanks for those references! Yeah, I don't think I'll have to remove the rear subframe completely, but it's definitely gonna need to be lowered some to snake the bars out and in over it. Just not sure how much of the info from Chris changes for AWD. The Gen2 rear sway bar for AWD is not the...
My wife's MDX has this. It does add a hesitation every time you pull away from a stop. On hers you have to disable it every time you get in the car, there's no way to switch it off for good. Pretty annoying.
I drove both a couple years ago. I did notice the CX-9's additional weight and length in handling, but the steering on both felt about the same. I ultimately went with the CX-5 for the higher zoom-zoom per dollar. But I am envious of the CX-9s cargo capacity and much better looking basic...
Hoping to find some time soon to install hardrace sways on my '19 GT-R. Looks like I'll be dropping the subframe for the rear, wondering if anyone is aware of a good guide for this process, including any special considerations for AWD.
What I've found so far:
Gen2 Workshop Manuals shared on...
For anyone w/ a similar need: I bought the hardrace 7028 and 7691 for my 2019 AWD CX-5 from this guy: https://www.aleksracing.com/ The website is a little sketch and some of the pages are in Russian, but I took a chance and ordered because buyhardrace didn't get back to me and Aleks quoted much...
Ok, I went with 3M crystalline 70% windshield, 3M ceramic 30% front windows, 3M ceramic 50% rear 5 privacy glass windows.
I think I picked the right films. The 30% is light enough I'm not worried about tickets, the windshield is effectively clear, and the backs are light enough I can still see...
Ah! These do help, thank you. Especially manual mode! I don't know why it took me so long to try that. Been trying here and there the past week now and there's MUCH less hesitation in manual mode. Feels like I start moving pretty much right away, when in auto I'm just stationary for at least...
Having trouble finding a rear sway bar that'll fit w/ AWD.
JBR says FWD only
CS doesn't list sway bars for any CX-5
Megan has one for FWD only
Anyone know of one that fits?
Installed Eibach Pro-Kit springs (E10-55-021-02-22) on my GTR over the weekend. Love 'em! Looks fantastic and handles so much better. Heading out to work Monday, I'd forgotten about the springs; But at the first stop sign it was like "woah! no dive!" On the long sweeping turns in my commute...
I hope so. Is that video to say though that surfaces that reflect more radiation (e.g. lighter paint colors, and tinted windows) will stay cooler? That's the effect I was after. Or are you saying that darker windows will absorb more energy like darker paint does? That is some seriously...
So I ponied up for ceramic and it's been "curing" a full week now.
Tinting is awesome!
I could only find one guy within an hour's drive of me that would do 3M ceramic (widely praised) tinting for me. A couple other places told me it's because ceramic is only done in climates much hotter than...
I paid about $1850 to the dealer for a 150k exclusionary/bumper-to-bumper service contract from NAE/NWAN. No time limit. $100 deductible per issue. Doesn't cover headlights, sunroof, exhaust pipes/resonator/cat/muffler, or regular wear/maintenance parts. Does allow me to lower car up to 2"...
