Listen, I appreciate all that you and other forum members are doing to resolve this problem, but just to be clear, "Eric" is the Mazda rep who replied to Lou Ann, who kindly forwarded my inquiry (the one signed "CUN"). A copy of the official memo would be nice, though, because I would forward it...
My latest exchanges with Lou Ann Hammond on this issue. Note that the reply from Mazda USA doesn't acknowledge that Mazda UK has been rolling out a fix.
Dear Lou Ann,
Just following up on this Mazda CX-5 USB playback issue. According to postings at Mazda247.com...
You sure? Lock all doors. With key fob on you, open and close only the rear hatch. Walk away, put fob down (or have someone else without fob) and then try opening the hatch. Should be locked.
I have a 2014 with GT and no matter what duration I select for interior lights to go out after doors closed they go out after just a short while. Other lighting functions work (adjust time for headlights to turn off, etc.) but not the interior out/door close one. Any thoughts?
Sure, but at least as an option, for people such as my wife, who is short and has bad shoulders so she can't reach far over her head and has little strength to push or pull.
All you have to do is have the fob on your person and walk up to the hatch and open it, or press the unlock button on the fob twice and it will unlock with all the doors.
OK, I just checked this out on my 2014 CX-5 GT w/tech, and this button will lock all doors, but will not unlock them. Check out page 3-9 in the OM. Again, this is a U.S. Mazda.
Last year on the Washington Post car critics chat I told them about this problem and asked them to contact their Mazda people; today I got the following email from Lou Ann Hammond:
Just received this from Mazda. They will let me know as soon as the fix comes through.
Hi Lou Ann,
Mazda is aware...
Or, with the car turned off, open SD card's door and take the SD card out, pause a second, put it back in, close SD card door, and start the car. You'll have to wait a few moments while the system reboots, but this has worked for me when the TomTom gets fussy. Another option would be to take the...
I got an offer from TT about a month after my 60 days had expired for one year at a discount with a second year free, which worked out to ~$20 a year. I took the deal.
