Yeah? Well I beat my kids daily just to show them who's boss, even if they haven't done anything wrong! (smash)
In all seriousness, I don't think it's as helpful when you have older kids as in your case, mainly because older kid(s) can clearly communicate verbally and to some extent 'keep...
correct, that is always the safest option. So I assume you also use a helmet whenever you drive, have installed 5-point harnesses/rollcage in your CX-9, and don't use your radio/phone to avoid distraction?
for the rest of us, in the real world, we try to strike a balance between 100% safety...
It's a second rearview mirror (with a more convex shape) that let's you see the passengers behind you. It can hang under your actual rearview mirror, or fit in your sunglasses case on the roof. It's standard on a lot of minivans and other cars. See here
Even though it's called a...
You are right to be skeptical of 3rd party warranties. Regardless of the quality of their coverage, people often do not correctly assess the 3-6 years of credit risk they take when prepaying the warranty and hoping the company is still solvent when they make a claim.
Speaking of 3rd row, does anyone else have issues with motion sick/dizzy 3rd row passengers? It seems like the back ends up feeling like a roller coaster (especially when driving in hilly areas).
ceric, looks like I don't have a PRESET button on my non-nav 09 GT (see pic of my radio). I tried different combinations with the RPT button but nothing was working to get me into diagnostic mode. Any ideas?
p.s. - i have tried re-pairing by deleting and re-pairing the saved device on both...
This man speaks the truth. Your leasing company (the owner of the car) owes the tax to the state when you first lease (which they make you to pay). Then when you buy it, you have to pay again since you are the new owner.
I would add that I believe IL also charges tax on the full purchase price.
I just ordered the bumper guard. Thanks for the info you have provided on it since it has come out.
Do you know if it comes w/ the 3M tape you need to install it? If not, which of these[amazon link] is the right mounting tape to use?
Just reporting back on this. After 6 months, they are still going strong and have saved a few dings to other cars (esp now that I have 2 kids with a car seat on both sides of the car). Well worth the $3 investment.
Good info. I've leased two cars before and it does get painful if you need to get out of them early, but works out great if you have good clarity on your time period and mileage use (and if car values plummet during your lease!).
Is it easy to bring your car w/ you outside the US (I assume...
I elected not to go w/ the NAV on the CX-9 given the price and poor reviews, even though I had it on my previous car (BMW). For the <5% of my driving that is to a new place, I have been relying on printed directions or more likely google maps on my cell phone (my passenger typically navigates)...
Would this comparison be possible?
In the two cases:
1) If you put into neutral: You will have some measurable MPG as you are using fuel while the car idles at some RPM (may be more than 1k as per previous comment)
2) If you leave in gear: Your MPG will be infinity since you are using no...
Brings up a good point though. Assuming you don't WANT to be slowing down, keeping the car in gear robs energy because it will give you some engine braking/transmission inertia that slows you down. This is obvious because you speed up on a downhill when you put your car in neutral.
So the...
I don't think going into neutral on downhills helps. Rather, it hurts since your engine is now idling (powered only by gas) rather than being powered by your wheels (transmission is connected) using little to no gas as it coasts. Plus, better to keep your car in drive since you never know when...
ceric - do you have this info for non-NAV cx-9s? My bluetooth has been acting up recently as well (can't pair my phone anymore after it worked fine for 6 months)
