The good thing is these plugs are easy to change on the fly. I was uncertain as well, so I walked around with my size 8 socket in case I needed to get to it on the fly (with the outgoing plugs too with 50k kms). The head of these are actually surprisingly well made, at least to the naked eye.
I'd be careful with eBay, just because there are so many non genuine products. If you want to stick with a brand, might as well get it at a reputable location. Never had any issues with rockauto.
Been trying a new set off Amazon recently, it's working out well. Read a few earlier posts here...
Feels exactly the same. I am walking around with my old set and the number 8 socket in case, but so far so good! Acceleration feels strong and the fuel economy is better!
What plug is this? I'm thinking it's a generic and not one that is specific to the CX9. Could be your problem. Try using OEM or the NGK specific plug mentioned here.

At the time of this change, I had about 165k kms. The last I changed plugs was roughly 120k, not quite the 64k mark as per the manual. My first change was done at...
So I tried this today. Ordered some dampening from Amazon. Used fluff from an old pillow.
I think I put too much fluff as it didn't sound any better. Removed some fluff, it sounds a bit better but nothing near what I was hoping for considering the overwhelmingly positive reviews here. Used...
Did you end up pulling the plug to take a picture?
I've only replaced with Mazda OEM and NGK 90288. The ngk got me about 50k kms and now I'm seeing a loss in L/100kms.
Will have to do another change soon.
Hey,
Just an update though it's been awhile as I was on vacay and using my 3G eclipse as the weather warmed up.
So Powerstop sent a new kit under warranty. (They stand behind their products!)
Before receiving the new kit, I bought new rear pads to buy me some time. (Ceramic pads OE+ brand from...
