Mazda Dealers: Dammit Mazda, Consumer Reports just named your cars the most reliable. How are we going to make money not fixing cars?!?!?!

I like that this thread exists to keep the conversation alive about transmission oil awareness. If I were to shop for cars today one of my top 10 maintenance questions is "how to access the transmission fluid". Doesn't mean I will change it but I would like the option to do so.
On CX-5's we...
Appreciate the report Digbicks. The good news is you know how to change the tensioner. The bad news is not having good experience with the Gates tensioner.
I have no idea what type of fluid they put in there. My guess is hydraulic fluid?
A bit off topic but I just learned the CRV CVT has a 30k mile CVT fluid change interval. Key to ensure proper warranty coverage meaning you may be screwed if you don't have proof it was changed at 30k miles. For those that don't DIY change yourself this is added dealership cost.
On the CX-5...
Yeah I went the Torque Pro route to be in the "good enough" ball park. In hindsight I don't think I checked level before changing ATF fluid. On after. Car still works and shifts good.
Sucks for Turbo owners if dipstick is hard to get to.
DC the battery means the ECU needs to relearn your driving patterns. It should reset by a few trips.......test it in manual mode.
On a separate note, the OEM tuning is as follows: If you mash on the pedal it WILL deduct power from you. If you press on the pedal gradually (need to learn the...
I replace mine every year to eliminate the issue 100%. Its cheap convenience/insurance. That said, my Fortin remote starter remote does most of the work. I merely need the fob close to start the car.
I feel you! I mean I press the wrong button causing 2 second delay in opening my garage within my gated community in the suburbs. Damn you Mazda!!!

The place that did my tint is in a plaza.....their neighbor is who installed my replacement windshield #1. Yes they offered a $50 discount is they installed while windshield was outside of car but I declined.
Tint on windshield makes a noticeable difference vs stock windshield. Just too many...
I also make a note to give the bottle/s a good shake for maybe 10 seconds or so. Some of the additives (we pay for) end up on the bottom over time.
Speaking of additives have you guys switched over to high mileage formulations yet?
When changing oil do you guys fill up the new filter or install it dry/almost dry? I fill up the filter at least half way then pour entire 5 quart bottle in a 2.5l engine to reach max line...........about 4.8 on a 2.0l to get to max line. Levels check after running to grocer store and back.
