Burning oil can definitely look white. Do a couple of tests to check for a bad head gasket and do the test to see if valve seals or oil rings are the issue. If your oil rings are the issue I highly recommend doing and a couple of engine oil flushes before it gets any worse.

Any chance there is a warranty? You're not gonna get labor back which sucks but if you could get free replacements it'd make it a little better. I can't imagine grease would disintegrate the boots, that'd just be stupid.

I was about to give it a whack when it started. I'll see if it starts again tomorrow morning. I would pull out the starter to see if I could take it apart but I'd like to do the repair in the garage and it can't stay in for more than a day or two.

Well, I'm confused. The starter is clicking so I'm pretty confident that the starter is the issue. I cleaned the battery to body ground and two others I found, still no start. Then I put my life in the hands of two rusty pinch welds and climbed under to check for voltage and I wasn't getting...

Anyone have pictures of the engine grounds by chance? Tomorrow I'm gonna check power at the starter and clean the grounds and terminals.

Went out today to install the camber bolts and the engine wouldn't crank. Kinda surprised kinda not, the battery is 6 years old but has always started strong after sitting for awhile. Now that I've driven a couple of times with the Lucas in I can say that it has made the smoking much worse. Smokes for about 2-3 minutes and gets pretty close to stalling out when accelerating from a stop. My theory would be that the thick Lucas has caused the rings to stick even worse. So it'll...
