I've got 205K on my stock gasket...Which I swapped over onto my OBX about 120K ago...Though that was the collector gasket, the head side I bought a felpro IIRC... It was so long ago....
Yes, the upper half comes out without pulling the lower half. It's a bit tricky, but I've done it twice. I still think the PG one is a waste of money, just do a VTCS removal and a little porting. Does wonders.
I need a low milage (under 100K or so) drivers side front caliper bracket, the metal airbox/washer bottle mounting bracket, and a pass side mirror- in laser blue/starry blue mica/winning blue.
Thanks!
Mike
CAI will lose MPG, just due ot the fact cold air needs more fuel. Really bad in the winter. (which in CA prolly isn't nearly as bad as MD)
I get 30-35mpg with an OBX header and VTCS removal. Those two are mods that will get you some really nice gains for the money. Add CAI and muffler, and get...
I need top mounts now... at 200K miles.
Start spraying the bolts down with penetrating oil at least a week before you do the install, and try and spray em down daily. It'll make everything go smoother (hopefully)
Tokico clunk? I've had mine for 175K and 5 years. No noise until recently.
204K, orginal clutch, I put struts (illuminas) and AWR motor mounts on it in the first year. My thought on the mounts is that they are bad from the design table... 170K on the illuminas and about the same on the AWR mounts...
And I drive(beat) the living CRAP out of my car.
The mounts were one of my first mods. I could not stand how crappy the stock mounts were and how much the motor just flopped around. The vibration is annoying but I like it better than the constant bucking the stock mounts allowed. I've got AWR front and rear mounts... with like 170,000 miles on...
LMAO, really 40K??
204K and counting on my 03.5 Lazer blue :P
The drivers seat is starting to show some wear on the one thigh bolster! Friggin junk! :P
the top piece is connected with bonded rubber. It takes a lot of strength or a torch to get it off, and there aren't any threads under it.. (been there done that)
I strongly suggest an aftermarket shifter. I have a B&M and it's been awesome over the 160,000 miles I've had it.
Swaybar bushings is all either place has.
Rockauto.com has replacement control arm bushings (11-22 bucks each) and complete from arms for around 70/ea. None are poly though. And the even more annoying thing is there isn't anything listed for the Protege5, I had to look up a protege ES.
