Transmission failure after ATF change is usually due to flushing the AT. Your plan sounds good to me. Just make sure they do drain-n-refill only (no flushing), and use correct fluid. Ask them to clean the pan and don't over/under fill fluid.

50mA * 12V = 600mW = 0.6W Not much. Much less than a tiny light bulb. With your security system, this is expected. Your 12V battery showing 12.5v is within normal range. A full/heathy 12V should measure 12.6v (2.1v * 6 cells). Anywhere between 12.4 to 12.6v is normal.

Too much technology in this case. The mechanical key also triggers the lock actuator, which does not work w/o 12V battery power. Dumb design, I agree. If this happens to me.... I'd call a lock smith (or AAA) to unlock the door mechanically. Open the hatch. Jump the car.
