As ^ suggested... if giving it some gas makes engine keep running, but idle does not hold on by itself, you might have a ICV leak. (idle control valve)
Saw my co-worker's Lexus RX failed that way (15 yrs ago) when going home from office.
Transmission failure after ATF change is usually due to flushing the AT.
Your plan sounds good to me. Just make sure they do drain-n-refill only (no flushing), and use correct fluid. Ask them to clean the pan and don't over/under fill fluid.
From what I read, the detection is based on triangulation of three sensors.
1 in center console. 2 in the front doors.
To start the engine, the fob has to be within reasonable distances to the three.
i.e. fob cannot be outside the doors.
In short, your fob remains inside the cabin ....
Could be...
50mA * 12V = 600mW = 0.6W
Not much. Much less than a tiny light bulb.
With your security system, this is expected.
Your 12V battery showing 12.5v is within normal range.
A full/heathy 12V should measure 12.6v (2.1v * 6 cells).
Anywhere between 12.4 to 12.6v is normal.
Too much technology in this case.
The mechanical key also triggers the lock actuator, which does not work w/o 12V battery power.
Dumb design, I agree.
If this happens to me....
I'd call a lock smith (or AAA) to unlock the door mechanically. Open the hatch.
Jump the car.
I think you knew what to avoid already. I have a '22 Turbo from new.
To your questions..
It takes time for a new engine to mature. I think problems with Mazda Turbo engine were fixed one by one as they showed up (not many I know except for the crack and ring). No one can guarantee for Mazda...
The tire pressure sensor emits its unique ID periodically at speed above 15mph(?) to save battery life. The ECU picks up the IDs and programs them into its memory automatically and also periodically. No need to program by human. (On my old '08 CX9, programming was required at dealership)
As you...
Sounds like a bad/weak battery to me.
Just replaced the AGM Q85 (w/ iEloop) battery of my '16 Mazda6 GT. Before that, when starting, the starter struggled a bit and then a couple turns later, it started up. With new battery, no struggling. The previous AGM lasted 6 yrs. AGM is required for...
AFAIK, shops get some $ from Carfax for reporting, but not all of them want to deal with CarFax. Typically small indie shops choose not to. Dealers mostly do, if not all.
Why not reporting? Privacy. You don't want the next buyer to see every tiny issues you dealt with during your ownership. So...
My suggestion (if I were you).
1. pull GPS SD card from slot.
2. discount everything you pair the system. No phone, no USB music, no AndroidAuto/CarPlay
See if it goes well after these.
If yes, put them back one by one and test it after each change.
If no, you can try to update software...
If I were you, I would start by taking the interior panels off.
Then, exterior ones if I have to.
Both are not that difficult to do.
Check Youtube for videos.
Check 12V battery. If it has been there since new, it is about time.
If you have a multi-meter, measure the voltage after it sits for a while.
Should be 12.4 to 12.6V.
I am puzzled by the "ride smoother" part... could it be the PSI of your tires remain above 40psi? Some new cars have that issue while they sit on boat and parking lots to avoid flat spotting.
For remote. Just a guess. Do you carry your fob and cell phone in the same pocket?
The signals could...
