That is the one thing that has put me off the euro brands as well. Brother had a 4 series BMW. Beautiful car and fast as crap. But his dealer services were always in the $300-450 range. And once he went to a private shop, the issues started.
Both the X7 and the GLS 450 are great cars and above anything Mazda offers. If the additional cost of initial purchase and ownership (gas, maintenance) are not an issue, both are great choices. Drive one and see what you like best. BMW still had analog stuff, which I prefer.
Put on new tires. The OE tires lasted till 60K miles. Put on a set of Pirelli Scorpion tires and it is like a new car. The quietness and grip is just amazing.
Maybe, but the maximum torque value of three version of their cars, all of which are very different engine designs, the PHEV, the Turbo S and the HO Diesel engines all cap out at 369 lb/ft of max torque. All generate it at different RPM values. It really sounds to me that they have developed a...
The Geo Metro was basically the Suzuki Swift but with an interior and dash from Chevy. I also got great gas mileage - a used to fill up at 492 miles on the odometer. Drove mine across the country and back! Lost the entire exhaust pipe and muffler outside of Chicago.
The engine was good but...
Thanks. I ended up looking up the article and it says exactly what you stated:
"Mitsuru Wakiie, the executive in charge of the CX-90 program, told Motor Authority the two powertrains' torque figures being the same isn't a coincidence. The output is nearing the new 8-speed automatic’s power...
Maybe I am reading your quote wrong, but designing a transmission to handle a certain torque load and building a new car that is near that max torque load seems bad. I highly doubt that those other car companies you mentioned would have done that.
Car and driver is publishing lots of these "news" releases that are nothing more than commercials for the company. Not sure why they have not done a real review.
It is an improvement over the CX-9 in every way. The PHEV feels heavy to me, but drives similar to the CX-9. The others (Turbo and Turbo S) are much nicer. The power from 20-75 MPH is just so nice and strong. There are clearly some cars with jerky transmissions - or things that will trigger a...
Well, it is not a truck - making wacky beeping noises would be off-putting.
And for the performance that everyone is complaining about - the 0-60 times are faster than what you would get with a similarly priced ($62K) MDX or a Infiniti QX60 (7.5 and 7.3 respectively). And the passing times...
1. No. I parked the car (reversed the car in) and it makes no weird sound.
2. I think the two + two is starting configuration is bad. Having to put the 5th passenger (3rd kid?) in the rear because of the two first captains chairs is not ideal. I am the youngest child and I could see my mom...
Drove the PHEV back to back with Turbo S and Turbo yesterday. The PHEV is shockingly quiet. When you turn the thing on, it makes zero engine noise. Actually found that a little off putting as I could not tell when the car was on. From a driving perspective, all three cars felt like they had the...
The pricing in Canada is really good and I personally wish the CX-90 topped out a 55K in the USA - not 62K.
With that said, the X-5 comparison is silly. That is a smaller car and no human- adult or child - should be sitting for any period in the third row! That is an emergency use case and that...
Thanks. I found this point to be interesting:
MW Fuel Economy: 26.5 MPG (Regular)
A 3-row SUV that has 340 hp and gets almost 27 MPG on regular gas? That is pretty darn impressive.
