I've run 205/55/16's for about 200K with MP3 springs. There was a little bit of rubbing on the back until the plastic wore off, and that was only rubbing due to a really heavy load.
Camaro is a POS. A friend has one, bought brand new and was in the shop more than it was on the road. Rattles, trans issues, rear axle/differential issues. Ran like a ***** ape, but typical chevy build quality.
On my buddies 02 P5 it was the PCV valve making it smoke....
On mine the oil comsumption was the rear main seal. It NEVER was wet on the outside ofthe bellhousing. I found it when I cracked the trans case and had to pull the trans. Maybe a 1qt every 7-10k before the seal replacement.. Ever...
I've ordered quite a bit from them. No problems yet. In fact they are the ONLY place that had the correct part for my one car.
I would avoid the universal sensors though.
The direct replacement is only a buck more
DENSO Part # 2344752
over 250K on mine now. Well, it's not mine. It's the wifes now. Still has the original clutch. Tokico Illuminas have 220K, and still work great. Sunroof gasket leaks. Car uses maybe 1/2 a quart of oil between 10,000 mile oil changes!
Hotter the intake charge temp, the leaner it's gonna run. A hot air intake works wonders for me in the winter. I take it off for the warmer months though.
5w-30 oil or lighter, less power loss from pumping oil.
Someone makes replacement 5th gear that has better OD.
315 mile? 280? Good...
I need the drivers side hatch lift cylinder with the ball the bolts into the hatch. Also could use some parts of the fuel filler neck. (check valve and hose) Possibly even the whole gas tank.
Man, haven't put much milage on it in the last 11 months. Only at 233,500 now.
Had to replace the passenger side wheel bearing, the ball that holds the lift cylinder on the hatch broke a few weeks ago. Still running strong, just really needs a clutch. It's not happy about downshifting...
it's been fine. Just releases too low. Still can grab 2nd. Heck, had the stock timing belt until 209K, replaced that for the hell of it..And my speedo has been 5mph slow at 50mph since 177K so, I've technically got even MORE milage...
225K+. It's getting kinda scary to drive. Car needs to come off the road and get an overhaul. At the minimum a clutch, windshield, roof repair (rust) and all of the suspension bushings.
I swapped a 145,000 mile beater 5.0 over to synthetic oils. No problem.
The p5 has been getting Mobil 1 synthetic since new and 7-10K mile oil changes. Now at 224,000 miles and the thing still runs great, is perfectly clean inside, and I might use a quart in 10K miles.
