Broken center console latch (2016 CX-5)

Mine broke, too. We were on a trip when it happened. Stopped into a Mazda dealer and they replaced the latch in about 30 minutes. They would not give it to me to replace myself.

    Caring for new car

First, yes, use a clay bar (with detailing spray) after washing the car. It'll be silky smooth afterward. I have the same seats and use a high quality leather and interior cleaner followed by a leather conditioner at least twice a year, or when needed. For the interior glass I use a product...

leather and vinyl cleaner preservative for CX-5

I use Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner for the steering wheel, seats, and dash, followed by Adam's Interior Detailer to add UV protection to the dash. And Adam's Leather Conditioner to the seats every six months. I live in a rather harsh climate.

Thinking of buying a CX-5 but I have some questions first

"-Cylinder deactivation: It sounds very good in theory. My question is, at what speed during highway driving does cylinder deactivation kick in and how fast can you go before the cylinder deactivation kicks off (not talking about accelerating fast, just pure highway driving). For example, can I...

2017~2025 Chewed up plastic after only 30000 m?

I lost a protective panel from the underside when driving over a snow berm left by the plow. It was held in by a couple plastic fasteners. Another panel was left dangling by one fastener (the panel inside the driver's side wheel well).

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

51000 on my 16 GT AWD. I change the oil every 5000 and keep the exterior and interior detailed. The leather on the driver's seat is starting to show wear, despite its protection. Stock tires wore out at 30000, the replacements are much better, as far as tread life goes (BF Goodrich Advantage T/A).

2013~2016 OEM battery leaks through caps

Yeah, I had been looking at Costco, but they need to order it for me, and it's an hour drive. Just wondering of this had happened to anyone else. The corrosion on the frame below the battery is pretty good.

    Tires

Mine got replaced at 30K. Went with BF Goodrich Advantage TVA. The new tires have 21K on them and show very little wear.

    Engine Bay

I don't pressure wash, but use a gentle spray with a degreaser and brush, followed by a rinse. Blow dry followed by a plastic/rubber dressing. Electronics aren't bothered this way.

    Engine Bay Concern

I detailed my engine bay. Low pressure water from hose to rinse. Then I sprayed Adam's All Purpose Cleaner on all dirty parts, scrubbed with a detailing brush, then rinsed clean, again with low pressure. Then blew dry and dressed all plastic and rubber parts. I didn't need to cover any wiring.

    Sorry, submitted twice.

2013~2016 OEM battery leaks through caps

My 16 GT still has the original battery with six hard-to-turn screw caps. The caps have been leaking and the metal hold-down shows corrosion. I removed the battery and saw signs of leaked battery acid below, on the frame. Anybody else had this happen? The battery works fine.

Mazda CPO coverage and changing own oil?

Easiest car to change oil I have had. Position of the filter makes it simple. I go every 5k.

Gas Mileage 2017 Mazda CX-5 AWD (GT)

I've got a 2016 GT AWD and generally get 28 mpg, or so. First long trip, about 2800 miles, got exactly 31 mpg. Haven't done that well since, but usually average 29.5 on trips over 1000 miles.

Best way to remove scratches. =(

I use Adam's Polishes products and an orbital polisher with appropriate pads. Correcting polish and finishing polish usually remove light scratches. Heavy correcting compound is used as a last resort.
