I think I ended up backing off a little less than 1 turn from the firmest setting.

Install went well - still have a clunk over speedbumps, though. Guess I need to check the endlinks too. The front bumper now scrapes on the driveway due to the lowering. I have to hit the driveway on the diagonal and go real slow now.

My fronts and rears are about 2 1/2 turns as well.

Are you sure it's blank? I'm not a PIC guy, but maybe they have flash protection (security bit), in which case all bytes will read the same value.

I took both of them apart yesterday (no pics) - I'm just waiting on a new bump stop to arrive Monday before I put the 2nd strut together. My recollection is that it was seated the way I installed it - I'm just curious about that other HOW-TO I read, because I'm not sure what the purpose of that...

At best, switching to synth buys some time, hopefully (in Mazda's eyes) until the warranty is up. I ran Mobil1 in mine from mile 1500. Turbo smoked at under 30K.

Sucks, man! I use Metrinch tools - you'll never have that problem. If you can get hold of a Metrinch socket, you should be able to get that bolt off. http://www.metrinch.tv/

I've been pretty pleased with the auto wipers in general. The auto headlights, however, are a different story. You'd think the system could turn on the auto headlights when the wipers are on lots of times during daytime rainstorms I have to turn on the headlights manually. Yeah, I know, what's...
