Other than the actual speedometer that has the display in Kilometers per Hour with Miles per Hour on the inside, are you able to override the electronic displays to show miles on the odometer or the weather in Fahrenheit, etc.?
Uh oh. Between this post and the other recent post having similar issues and trying to solder some wires together, it looks like there could possibly be an assembly issue with 2018s.
I emailed Mazda to ask if CarPlay/AA will be available to prior models when the 2019 comes out, if it requires any hardware upgrades, and how much it will cost. Here is the response:
At this time Mazda hasn't released any other information on the cost of this feature for previous CX-9 models...
Thanks colnago1331! I'm primarily looking for a 2016/2017 GT, but I'd probably be interested in a 2017 Touring with the Premium Package. I'm wanting to keep the price sub $33k with less than 20k miles if possible.
Thanks, sm1ke! For item 1, are Deulers made by Bridgestone and what are the other tires Mazda used for the CX-9? This isn't necessarily a deal-breaker and I could probably use it for price negotiation if they were on there.
For 2, not a big deal to take care of, I suppose.
For 3, unless I...
I will be looking into finding a used 2016 or 2017 CX-9 sometime this year, particularly a GT. Would there be any reason why I should not look at a used 2016 vs the 2017? A reason I might give is because the 2016 was the first year of the new design and any issues might have fixed in the 2017...
Anyone import a new model CX-9 from Canada to the US? I believe these are manufactured in Japan, so there are probably duty fees because of that. Could potentially save some money doing this, but not sure if it really is worth the hassle.
Correct. I don't own a CX-9 (yet). I have a gut feeling the problem was a result of user error somehow, or maybe they put car mats in that didn't fit correctly and got stuck on the throttle somehow. Don't know.
Anyone having this issue?

I bought the signature CX-9 in August 2016 after falling in love with it at first sight. The gunmetal grey version with the beautiful interior featured in all the Mazda ads. Drove it...
"After one year and 22,000 miles, our long-term test of the 2016 Mazda CX-9 is complete. It performed well, but there were some surprises."

Australia and other countries are getting the slightly smaller CX-8 with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine. The article compares it to the CX-9.

If it's only 5 or 6 inches (which I think Cessna is saying) then it should be fine. Unfortunately the closest Mazda dealership is an hour away and I don't think they'll let me take it that far. I wish Mazda had more dealerships.
I think this is a big issue. For me the closest Mazda dealership is almost an hour away, while most others are within 20 minutes. Lack of dealerships definitely hurts and it has caused me to have second thoughts because of how far away it is.
I apologize if this has been answered before somewhere, but is this Infotainment System problem only a 2016 model year issue, with no problems for 2017s and 2018s?
