Your 16x7 rims with +40 offset should be just fine on your new Mazda5. I think you are right not to use the 225/70/16 snow tires since they are going to be much taller than the car has clearance for. I'm currently running 205/60/16 snow tires and even that is slightly taller than the OEM wheel...
I was shopping around for my 2012 and between Rockauto, autoanything.com, AutoPartsWarehouse.com, and Tire Rack I was able to find the Centric High Carbon Cryo Treated front and rear rotors for the Mz5.
Has anyone on the forum installed a JBR passenger engine mount in their Mz5? I ask because I'm interested in getting one for my 2012, while swapping out my OEM mount into my wife's 2008 Mz5. Anyone have any feedback on this?
To it being uncomfortable, you can also add lack of cruise control as something the 2 door Yaris had going against it. For me cruise is a deal breaker.
Usually the intakes will cross from a 3 to a 5. Not sure about the headers. A cat back exhaust from a 3 likely won't cross directly without some custom work.
I recently asked my local Mazda dealer if the stock exhaust from my 2012 Mz5 would fit directly onto my wife's 2008 Mz5. He said the...
I moved to my 2012 Mz5 from a 2004 Corolla with the 1.8. My Corolla was a 5 spd though and it was still fun to drive plus being the gas sipper you mentioned. Over the 88000 miles I drove the Corolla I averaged about 30.5 MPG overall combined. In my 2012 Mz5 I've averaged about 23-24 MPG...
Sorry about your poor mileage and all the money you spent on your car. BTW, this is a Mazda5 forum. The folks in the Protg forum may have better answers for you.
I have used silicone spray a few times/year to lube my rollers and other door hinges/mechanicals. It pays to also clean off the lower door track too since that gets gunked up worst.
Did you do just a drain and fill or did you flush out all 9 quarts? Drain and fill will only get you about 3 quarts. You'd have to do this 3-4 consecutive times in order to get the bulk of your fluid changed out.
I once replaced my rear wiper with the "replacement" blade you can find at Advance Auto. But it never really wiped the window well. It would always miss the upper third. I bought another OEM blade from the dealer the following year and it worked perfectly.
Has anyone installed the firestone rear spring helper airbags on their Mz5? Do you think this would help with rear suspension demons on these cars?

Carbon fiber or Para-aramid. When I do my brakes I'm going with Centric (Stoptech) Para-aramid pads and the High carbon or Cryo-treated rotors. Only 37k miles on the car now and OEM brakes are still doing OK.
