I usually use Would Mobil 1™ 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy. Change ever 10k km so about 6200 miles
SO far had the car about 5 years and runs ok.
I don't do any oil condition tests at the lab :)
New taillights.
Different look for a deck.
Different sheet metal and "smile" on the grill.
6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic gearbox vs 5 and 4 in the older models 2.3 vs 2.5 motor.
stability control with traction control as well as front, side and curtain air bags.
So if you have some spare...
That is some high millage on the old one.
I'd have kept it till it did stand you.... then fix and keep going. Having 1 million on the clock would have been cool to achieve.
Our CR-V is just at 450k, waiting for the 500k :)
Looking at the reported millage by others, you might be out there by...
I don't use a tool to remove the oil filter, just my hands.
It should not be so tight that you need a tool, but of course a good tool should make life a little easier.
You can remove a little bit of both oils, best done on the cold engine.
Just remove the drain plug (don't drop it) and still use...
No special wiring. Just used the wires that go to the stock bulbs.
In some cars you need to run a separate power from the battery to balasts, but not on this one. 3:18 to 4:12 is the only wiring connections I've done.
My ballast was a generic ballast so it just had the two metal tabs sticking...
Just came back from the road trip.
Drove about 6000 km in two weeks with two kids in the back.
Went from Vancouver to San Francisco, LA, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, back to San Fran and back to Vancouver.
Missed the Grand Canyon unfortunately.
Was a nice drive, with the longest stretch at about 16...
I did this video how I've done it on my 5: https://youtu.be/C12CvW4onow
Stick with 4300k or 5000k, and buy A/C type kit, the good kits will be advertised to be so. Don't buy the lowest one on ebay but at around $50-$60 you can get a good one.
Mine has lasted about 4 years for the bulbs about 6...
Depending which thread you found. One thread basically concluded - don't get it.
Our headlights are not designed for the LED light pattern.
HID would be a better chage if you get a reasonable qiality AC volatage type or H11.

LEDs still...
For the sunroof drains, check under the car and you should see the rubber hoses running down. Try blowing air through them at like a gas station if you don't have a large air supply pump and have another person listening at the sunfoor entrace and see if air comes out.
Try all 4. Two front an...
Sorry I was not clear on the splash shield removal process in that video.
I'd re-shoot that part but darn cold outside for that.
It is really just a bunch of bolts front and back.
It is hard to shoot as the car is low to the ground so video end up looking messed up or too close up to makegood...
Dunno, I use Castrol Import.
Splash shield takes 2 minutes, maybe 1 to remove. For me, doing it every two years is not much hassle.
I just use power scredrivers to remove the few bolts.
You are comparing different class cars :)
Personally, a small penalty in gas does not bother me. Sliding doors are 1000% better than normal doors when you are dealing with kids.
No fear of kids dinging cars around you, easy access, more space, no issues getting them in/out in the tight parking...
