Remembering my Mazda6 with the 2.5T setup, when playing in manual mode, clicking this switch used to force the car to downshift if possible to get max acceleration (exactly like @cadcamjim mentioned). Not sure if that's the case in the CX5 but something someone could verify, perhaps.

I haven't seen any adjustments for that sort of movement. it's usually left-right, up and down. From that figure, it looks like the passenger headlight itself isn't installed correctly or there's something going on inside of it like vrsick noted.
Lower your tire pressure. Regardless of the gas in the tires, the pressure should be closer to the spec'd 36psi. Some dealers miss that step in the prr-delivery inspection process. Wouldn't hurt to verify with your own tire pressure gauge as well just to be sure.

I suspect they are installing an aftermarket system that doesn't work with the Mazda Connect system, especially since they said it will beep and not show on the screen. The manual is speaking about the factory installed system that is in the Signature trim, which you don't have.
