That 99.9% of owners would never use. I looked again last night and yes it is there but only looking up at the rooftops just like the supplied photo. I tend to look forward when driving and yes the brightness is all the way up in the photo.

There are a pair of drive cables that move the seat back and forth, I suspect one is either broken or detached. The attached service bulletin might help. Removing the seat is just 4 bolts but you might struggle a bit because ordinarily you would slide the seat back and forth to fully expose...
The electric power steering will compensate for any amount of feedback from the steering column and you should get just as much assistance by using one hand as two. I think that*s a confidence issue maybe.

I doubt very much that the engine mountings are loose but it is a known (I*m going to call it a phenomenon) that hydraulic engine mountings become virtually inflexible when very cold.
