CX-5 back to the top in its segment for October sales in OZ:
Mazda CX-5 2173
Nissan X-Trail 1762
Toyota RAV4 1700
Note: CX-5 sits 6th overall in top ten overall vehicle sales for the month.
Mazda overall dipped slightly to 3rd for the month with Hyundai strong for the month to push it up to...
The Mazda Kai concept previewed the next Mazda 3. With the Skyactiv X mill could be a game changer. About time the 3 gets a new generation. Passenger cars are on he decline unfortunately but CUVs are booming, even Ferrari is getting in on the act. Good to see Mazda are on the up in the States.
Apologies for the new thread posted on the Mazda concepts.
Still think it deserves its own thread due to it being the official reveal of design concept and not leaked images. (lol)
Anyhow, the links below has the official full gallery of images for each of the concept...
The new Mazda Concepts have been revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
It features the Mazda Kai which will be the next Mazda 3 and the Mazda Vision concept which could well be the next Mazda 6.
Both gorgeous in my eyes.

The Toyo Proxes R36 have a treadwear rating of 300. I got about 35000 miles out of them. They are rated C for rolling resistance (fuel efficiency), C for Wet Braking and 69dB for noise which is relatively quiet.
A lot of the alternatives I found rated equal or worse than the above though the...
Thanks for the info but despite the good treadwear ratings on them, it does not rate highly in rolling resistance (fuel efficiency) and noise.
Just discovered, for Australian drivers; a good starting point in what is available for comparison is here...
I don't believe General RT43 tyres are available in Australia where instead the General Grabber GT tyres are advertised occasionally for the CX-5 225/55/R19.
Has anyone tried General Tyres in Aus? The General Tyres in the CX-5 specs seem to rate average following EU Tire Labels. ie. E for...
Difference is significant between some of them. Have the 9 speaker Bose system and compared to CUVs in the same price segment, it is pretty good if not the best of the lot. Sounded underwhelming to begin with. Need to turn the Bass and Treble settings right up and Fade towards the rear speakers...
September sales in Australia not so good. Came third in its category behind the Hyundai Tucson and Mitsubishi Outlander! respectively. These rivals have aggressive sales pricing plus I hear we have supply issues with the CX-5 in Australia at the moment.
I'm not a huge fan of it either especially the exterior styling. Just saying it's meant to be a pretty decent vehicle according to motoring experts. Not my cup of tea. Still think CX-5 has better tech overall.
KIA Sportage rates pretty highly here in Australia. Constantly ranks highest especially in the mid-spec bracket with emphasis on value, features and quality.
Plus: 7 yr warranty (Aus), sophisticated looks (subjective) ie. Euro style, quality interior and good amount of features for the price...
Good power and torque numbers from the diesel mill. It's primarily for the Japanese market where the CX-9 is not available. I can see those alloy wheels being the choice in the next CX-5 update.
The comparison is to highlight the different torque curves when using different octane fuels. It's not a comparison table of torque numbers and besides, the Skyactiv-X is still in prototype form and they can't reveal the real production torque figures yet. You can clearly see it is much better...
Certainly a great breakthrough for the ICE. A 2.5L engine with the same application should deliver even more in terms of power and torque.
Motor Authority's fuel consumption test:
The results are encouraging: on a drive route that included a short stretch of unlimited-speed autobahn, meaning...
Really? BTW I've seen a few AUS CX-5 DRLs now, the inner parkers are brighter than the halos. Not even sure if the halos are actually on because if you look and compare with the CX-9 halos, the CX-9 halos are clearly fully illuminated.
It's like they have reverted to when the CX-5 was first...
