Looking for 16" winter wheel/tire setup for my new Mazda3 skyactiv.
Something similar to stock setup:

Rim specs: 16x6.5 +50
I'm located in NY/NJ/CT tristate area.
I wonder if the reports of OEM vs. aftermarket pads being more or less responsive is really a reflection of how spongy the brake pedal is, which is based on whether or not the brakes were recently bled.
When I changed out my OEM pads (and rotors) for aftermarket ones, my pedal felt spongy...
Did my first ever brake job today. Went with powerslot rotors and centric posi-quiet pads (fronts only).
Relied mostly on the DIY instructions others have posted but had some more questions:
- The new pads came with a metal plate attached to the back. The stock pads for some reason had two...
Well if you look back a few posts you can see that it has been about 2 years now since I installed my guards and they are no longer on my car. They lasted about 18 months (2 summers) before the glue started to break down and the guards started falling off. They leave a nasty black residue on...
just to add, the two LATCH anchors you would use for the middle seat would lock you out of using LATCH with car seats on either side (can't have multiple car seats on same LATCH anchor).
I believe, therefore, the only way to go three across is to have to do: Seatbelt, LATCH, Seatbelt or LATCH...
Question - when people say the Spec X are way quieter than stock tires, aren't they comparing a brand new spec X tire vs. the old tire they are replacing with 20-30k of miles on it? Doesn't seem apples to apples since there will a noise difference between new/old regardless of brand.
How...
Does anyone know of a way to lower the volume of the bluetooth phone ringer when you get a new call? I always get startled by it since it's very loud.
You can turn it down while it's ringing, but you have to turn the volume back up when you are talking to the person.
I have the peg perego aria single as well as the twin (60/40 side-by-side). The single fits with the 3rd row up, but the twin does not. If you want a double stroller to fit, you probably want to get something other than a side by side (ie, front/back).
Obviously anything fits with one or both...
Agree that the bulb itself is already encased (so it's not exposed), but I just found it odd that the body was designed for a different cover it seems. Why else would that obvious recess be there and the bulb housing not fit perfectly in the rectangular slot?
It's like during design the bulb...
I opened my trunk yesterday and noticed the 2 lights that illuminate the license plate do not have a plastic cover, even though the body has an obvious indentation for one. Is it supposed to be this way or have my covers fallen off?
See pic (shows the right side light, there is another one on...
Do you guys remove the Thule when not using it or just leave it on the car? Any idea how big of a MPG penalty there is when it is on?
I've debated getting one of those, but the only scenario I can see it being used is when I'm taking a long trip with 7 passengers (ie, no more trunk space). Or...
Following up to this post: ceric - you mention it should be changed @ 10k miles. My manual recommends changing this after 25k miles or 2 yrs. Is it excessive to change it at 10k?
Why not just pull down the overhead console first and see if something is rattling in there? Unscrew two screws and pull down carefully. Takes a little effort since the 4 rubber 'teeth' are not very flexible to slip out of the headliner.
