No way. Just because it has those seats does not make it comparable. dwswager is 100% right. Those rear seats in the X5 and in the GLE for that matter, are TINY. There is zero point of those.
That is also why those stupid comparisons between the X5, GLE and CX-90 were so stupid.
I have a feeling that the car is going to be very similar in length and space to the CX-60 but with the width of a CX-90. The reverse of the CX-8 and CX-80.
When I translated it the caption under the presidents was this:
"The president of the hair basket explains the finish of two large SUVs of the large product group"
Mazda looks to have sold over 20K CX-5 in December. That low APR did its job!

January 30th looks to be the reveal date.

The center console is much bigger in the Cx-90 but it just felt much roomier than my CX-9. And the leg room for the passenger side was much better. The 3rd row is better as well - the second row felt identical -but higher up. The rear space with all rows up is bigger in the CX-90. Not by much...
I had a 2014 CX-5 and a 2021 CX-5. The rear area is basically identical. The only major difference is the addition of carpet to the rear - which could take up maybe 0.1". Otherwise, it is identical. I also have had two CX-9's (2018 and 2021) and have spent lots of time in the CX-90 and the CX-90...
I bet the CX-50 costs a bit less to make and get to US dealers and also makes more per vehicle than the CX-5. If the upward trend for the CX-50 continues, I could see 50,000 CX-50's sold, which would be huge for Mazda's bottom line. If the CX-70 gets close to those numbers, it would be a huge...
I heavily cross shopped the XC-90 with the CX-9. I loved the XC90. I find it to be the best looking SUV with a great interior. Was ready to make the switch but when in the showroom, talking with people waiting in the service department, they all said make sure to get the extended warranty and...
Honestly, who cares? The CX-90 is a smashing success. I hate to say it but those people that want to "define" what these cars are, are clearly not in touch with the Mazda's target audience for this car.
To me, the XC90 is the best looking SUV out there. The interior is also amazing and I would argue it has the best sound system out there. The cabin even smells good!
November sales are interesting. CX-5 sales are dropping and CX-30 and CX50 sales are increasing. And they are selling more CX-90's than they ever sold CX-9s. CX-30 plus CX-50 sales are equal to CX-5 sales. The CX-70 will further erode CX-5 sales and in my mind, make the CX-5 obsolete...
For all three of those cars, in the first 20-30K miles, I would be a quart down at 3000 miles. Search the oil burning thread and you will see my posts. I took pictures of everything. I take long trips (1200 miles round trip weekends) and often, I would lose a quart just from that. This was...
So, we have had multiple Mazda's over the last 9 years. 2014 CX-5, 2017 Mazda 3, a 2018 CX-9, 2021 CX-5, 2021 Mazda 3 and a 2021 CX-9. All but the 2014 CX-5 and the 2017 Mazda 3 have the 2.5 T.
All have been reliable and things like the "oil" burning on the 2021 model have rectified...
Just as clarification, the CX-5 now represents about 35% of all Mazda sales. They are slowing working to even out the sales of all their models so that the loss of the CX-5 won't sting so bad.
There will be the CX-30, the CX-50, the CX-70 and the CX-90. I predict the CX-5 will be gone the year...
