Are you saying that your tire tech installed new wheels and tires and didn't even notice, or ask, if you had in-wheel TPMS?
"the installer was under the impression that the car did not use sensors in the wheel but instead relied on ABS data (like in the old days)"
In the old days? :LOL...
"This seems to be a common issue with low oil level leading to the crack engine, so even minor oil leakage can lead to this."
A common issue? How did you determine this? This is the first time that I've heard of this, not so common I believe.
As Yrwei stated above, low oil levels will NOT...
The dealership jumped right into getting a new engine instead of replacing the head? What's their reasoning for this?
What were the symptoms of the cracked head?
Speaking of lights...
We just got back from a wedding in the Clarksville, TN area. We spent four days down there.
I had no idea that it was a THING, and legal, to put these ridiculous LEDs in the wheel wells and/or on the rims themselves on these jacked up and deleted pickup trucks, most of...
Blackout is one thing, tinting is another.
Which are you talking about?
An acquaintance of mine, who has his windows tinted very darkly, asked me the other day why I never wave at him when he drives by me and waves. Not being totally familiar with what car he drives, I didn't recognize it as...
Those other cars mentioned as being 'made in the USA' are assembled in the USA with some of the parts used coming from all over the world. These cars won't be immune to price increases associated with the tariffs.
If the parts to build the car cost more then the car will cost more as well.
Those tires are pretty weighty. Can they be filled with helium? ;)
Jeeze, it's an econobox with a 4-cylinder engine, by NO means a performance vehicle and it will never be no matter how much weight you trim away.
To each their own though. Carry on.
" then as we know - gas weighs less than water - gas = 6 lbs - water 8.2 lbs - so a full 15.3 fuel tank is 92 lbs- I run around with 1/2 tank - filling it back to 1/2 after around town stuff - this sheds another 45 lbs - so ive reduced my driving weight by 90 + llbs- and that translates into a...
The fill amounts specified in the manual are not the actual amounts that fill the case to the bottom of the filler port. I had to add 10oz of OEM lube to take the factory amount in my rear diff to the bottom of the filler port.
YMMV
It's not my car but you asked for comments so...
The CX is not a race car and will never be one. All this weight reduction is a waste of time, at least it would be for me.
0 to 60 times reduced by removing the spare tire and jack? To what end? I'd MUCH rather have the peace of mind that comes...
Smells like BS to me.
Hey! Is that you STP?
Dunno how many miles are on the Mazda in the vid but that motor sure sounds bad in that underneath shot.
BG? Isn't that the brand that we've seen in use by some of the dealerships?
Biometric pressure sensor?
What biometric pressure sensor?
Are you talking about the sensor IN the passenger seat that activates/deactivates the airbag?
