I paid $31,500 (before tax) in Southern California for a 2010 FWD Touring w/Bose & Moonroof, power lift gate, rear backup camera in January 2010. I also got 0% financing for 60 months, probably could have gotten a little better price if I paid cash or arranged my own financing. They were...
When I was looking last year and bought my 2010, BSM was a $200 option on the GT's. It seems for the 2011 model BSM is standard (according to Mazda's website).
I always find it interesting looking at the list of best selling cars in canada:

Not a whole lot of AWD optional cars at the top of the list. The Civic and Mazda3 are best sellers there - no AWD. That makes...
What I miss from GT: Blind Spot Monitoring, and HIDs. Now, the side view mirrors on the CX-9 are huge - properly adjusted, I have no blind spots. My sister has a 2010 Mazda 6 GT with BSM, I didn't really think it was necessary. HIDs - I just think they look cool. The touring headlights are fine.
What matters most in the rain are the tires - and the tires that come with the CX-9 are not good. They're almost dead last in ranking on tire rack:

They come with the Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400. Now, it seems many cars...
What he said.. I live in the high desert of CA, I opted for FWD. It never rains, snow is an impossibility.. One less thing to break (I tend to keep cars a long time), plus it gets a little better gas milage. I didn't even see many AWD models on the lots around here - all FWD. Total opposite...
Both of you should go to the dealer and try sitting in a used CX-9 in the lot.. that'll let you know if its a design issue or a problem unique to your vehicle.
+1 - had the same experience with my 2010. We even went back to the dealer and it took the sales guys about 30 minutes to figure it out. You need to turn the ignition all the way to OFF.
Also, we had the same problem with the car beeping a while later.. turns out someone left the 2nd fob in...
This happened to me this weekend. Both the DSC and TSC OFF indicators came on. I pulled off the freeway, shut the car off/on - it came back on 30-60 seconds later.
It only finally stayed off when I pulled over again later on the same road trip to fill up. I doubt its related, but after I...
Exactly what I'm trying to avoid.. Seems like a bad idea. If you wanted it on without the engine running, you should have to turn the ignition to accessory or something. But I don't see why anything should be able to draw power with the car completely off and locked.
The power outlet on the center console seems to turn off with the car, but whatever I leave plugged into the power outlet inside the center console arm rest will remain powered. Is this normal? Shouldn't turning off the car turn off all power outlets?
Did they break the $778 down into parts & labor? I would bet there is a fair bit of labor involved, running the harness from the mirror to the tailgate is NOT for the faint of heart:

This thread has some info, including the installation instructions for the 2007 - its not exactly easy, but it can be done.

I just want to confirm that the 2010 CX-9 does NOT have an indictor telling me what the oil life is or when to change it. I just figured all newer cars had such an indicator - my 2006 accord does, so does my sister's 2007 cobalt.
Manual says change it every 7500 miles, no mention of an indicator.
The backup camera mirror is a dealer installed option, so it must be doable. Ask a dealer for a copy of the instructions to see if you are comfortable doing it yourself. At the BOTTOM of this thread are PDF versions of the instructions for installing it on a 2007 CX-9, and it would appear the...
Well, after a few more weeks of ownership, we're up to about 2500 miles. The A/C smell is virtually gone. It was never a musty/moldly smell - I should have been more specific. It was a plastic/chemical/solvent smell :) Like perhaps there was some off-gassing inside the ductwork that got...
