You're right, captain's chairs are optional on the GT, and it's a free option(as per the website and builder) too... seems like all the dealerships in my area ordered all GT's with the free optional captain chairs as there are virtually no GT's in my area available with the bench... all of them...
Yes, it's a simulated sound that plays through the speakers(to make it sound more "refined" and make it sound more "powerful"), and hitting "mute" or turning the stereo off does not disable it, I can confirm that. The Ford's were real tricky people had to do some splice mods to cut it out since...
Ford does exactly this with their V6's... they play recorded V8 noises through the speakers inside the cabin as you drive. They do it with some of their other vehicles too but I don't keep up with Ford products very often...
Definitely no subwoofers on the outside. The sound "enhancements" are just pumped into the cabin from the speakers by simulation. Essentially they record the audio of an engine accelerating through the rpm ranges and replay that audio as you accelerate to the correlating rpm's..... sometimes it...
From all the reviews I've seen on youtube where people are driving it, it does seem like the fake engine noise is rather subtle and more subdued compared to other manufacturers who utilize it... it was probably added as a feature since Mazda added more NVH insulation on the 2020 making it too...
I can't believe you brought this up. You are completely mistaken, and I say this respectfully as I'm trying to be polite since you didn't know-nothing wrong with not knowing. So I have broke it all down for you below.
The press release was stating each individually on that line:
Broken down...
Hey guys, I was curious to know, for those with Model Year 2020 (as only this year started to receive this feature, and for the turbo models only) GT-R and Signature's, is there an option to disable the "Engine Harmonics Enhancer" (also known as fake engine noise)?
As featured and mentioned in...
Maybe yours is ok, but there was even a class action law suit for the 2.3 liter, involving the timing chain, which seems to be due to the VVT system... in another thread I wrote a long "article" explaining how the 2.3 liter was a "franken" motor(some parts were shared with the 2.0 liter, while...
Didn't get to watch the whole video, but safe to assume that this CX-7 has a 2.3 L DISI turbo... same one as the Mazdaspeed 3 and speed 6, wasn't too uncommon to hear of timing chain issues with these motors.... rest assured these motors have nothing in common with the new skyactiv motors, so...
How long a Mazda3 will last greatly depends on what model/generation it is and what drivetrain(s) it was equipped with(amoung other things of course.. like how well it was maintained, but that aside..). Just like any other car... take the Civic for an example if someone said, "Civic's last...
Torque delivery is micro-controlled(gimped during acceleration, controlled during turns, etc.), plus it has an LSD. It would ironically cost too much and be too much effort and just doesn't make sense when you can readily(since Mazda already built this platform to be AWD as well) distribute the...
Found the old article, also recall seeing a video of it and watching the factories paint the Mazda's while explaining their "eco paint":
https://newsroom.mazda.com/en/publicity/release/2005/200507/050729.html
Practice vs Theory though... news press back then is bragging how Mazda's will have...
Very true, Mazda paint is very thin and rather brittle/hard. I gotta see if I can dig up some articles on it but I recall how they used to brag about their proprietary process for coating cars and how it was "eco friendly" paint and advanced, painted in the Hofu Japan factory. "Eco" in the sense...
Right on!
The article I linked from CD referenced Jalopnik(which I see is the same one
norsairius linked in the OP), and here's what they have to say regarding a Model name:
https://jalopnik.com/the-2021-mazda-3-will-finally-get-a-turbo-1843884157
I didn't see any information on where it'll...
Sure, I'll try to help... or at least give some leads as best as I can.
First and foremost, you're throwing p0037 and p0043 codes, which are from the heater block unit (that thing to the right of your engine block... have you tried swapping that over too? I'll give you a link to it later on...
What's the mileage on the car? Has the manual transmission fluid ever been changed? How long have you owned it for(at what mileage did you receive the car and how many miles did you put on it since...what's the maintenance history of the transmission)?
I've done 2 fluid changes on my 2005...
Yes, I agree, I also think this will only be available with AWD, the 2.5T with just FWD is too much torque(yes I know the mazda6 2.5t FWD exists, but they do all sorts of "trickery" to curb the torque at different times of acceleration), they can do it with FWD, but it just doesn't make sense to...
Ah gotcha, thanks, sorry I missed it up there, re-read that they were going to swap in that lower mileage motor.
Hope that motor lasts you a good long trouble free time.
Did the dealer come up with anything? While reading what you're experiencing, it kind of reminded me of this thread:

Could be a related issue, who knows. Just wanted to pass it a long.
