Actually, the Goodyears are probably not made in the USA. I was at Discount Tire today waiting on a wheel balance, and to kill time I went around to all of their tires on display and looked at the "MADE IN..." stamp. Almost every tire, including many of the Goodyears, was made outside the US...
I also get a creaking sound from the brakes just before I come to a complete stop. I'm hoping some of these issues go away after getting some more mileage on them.
I just installed the HB519F.682 and HB478F.605 on my son's '06 2.3L, along with new Centric premium rotors. I'm not impressed with the braking. I bedded them in according to the directions, but it feels like the rears aren't grabbing much. I even though maybe I still had an air bubble, so I...
I don't believe it's an equivalent. The pulley design and mounting washer changed. I actually tried the Dayco part - worked OK for about 5K miles, but the noise is back.

The info in the above two posts should really be stickied somewhere. Many of us are so used to using anti-seize (myself included, being an old-timer) that...
Do NOT use anti-seive on spark plugs with silver coating!
I tried to find a pic of new IVT22s, but no luck.
Do IVT22s have copper threads, or are they plated shiny silver like most are nowadays? If plated, anti-seize is NOT meant to be used.
Since reading this document, I never use anti-seize...
If you don't want to spend too much, just go KYB G2's on the rear shocks. I just replaced my son's OEM rears with those on his 3s. I also replaced his springs with my OEM MS3 springs ;) He'll be happy to be a little lower now...
I have the Koni Yellows on my Speed, and like them fine. They're...
LOL - my Dad had a brain fart and put 87 in his diesel van once on a trip home from Florida to Wisconsin. Needless to say, his trip was extended a couple days.
Finally got that sumbitch off - I ended up sticking a pry bar (with a nail claw on the end) onto the end of a box-end wrench from above and whacking it pretty hard about 10 times with a mallet. 20ft-lb my ass... I suspect that when my engine replacement was done, the tech decided to save time...
Thanks for the advice, albeit post-completion :)
My biggest problem was probably not having a long enough 14mm - I actually pulled so hard on that thing I must have tweaked some nerves in my hand - three of my fingers went numb. My fingertips are still numb today. The good news is, it fixed...
