Oh right, forgot that the 5th could be swapped from the outside of the case. I was looking to do this back in 2012 when the 6 speeds had just come out.
Same- not sure I have the exact same kit as you, but I have the factory rack that fits the 2006-2010. The only thing I needed it for was to know where to mount the spoilers, which I don't use since I take the rack off instead of leaving it empty. The pads are self-explanatory, and as long as you...
I was going to swap the 6 speed transmission over- seems like a better setup for only $1k without having to dig inside for gear swaps. I'm pretty sure I verified that the axles, trans case interface, and clutches were all the same between the 5 and 6 speeds.
Almost everything in the drivetrain is shared. Suspension, brakes, engines/transmissions to a degree- all can be swapped around. I ended up with Mazdaspeed 3 brakes and rear sway bar, Miata wheels, Mazda 3 2.0 oil filter setup. Think of the 5 as basically a stretched 3 with sliding doors in the...
I honestly don't remember- but I may have the settings in my car maintenance app. I'll dig through the history and then post back. As far as height, I just went for even wheel gap- which I think was about 1 1/4" down in the front and 1 3/4" down in the back.
And you're welcome for the writeup...
Good info!
And there are ways to slave another Android device to the head unit and then run a custom APK to enable your main phone to use the slave phone as a wireless pass-through. Unofficial wireless Android Auto.
Very nice! Maybe you could put some aero on the front to keep it from making noise when empty? Paint black? I think the bolts I ended up using were 1/4-20, not M6.
I had no idea that the factory rack was going for that much. Makes me wonder what happened to the guy that said $120 was too much...
Hey, welcome. I don't think there's a more active 5 forum anywhere- it's not a car that really encourages modding. Typical problem areas that draw people to M247 are the front brakes and rear shocks, although those issues were somewhat addressed going into the second generation car that you have.
Yup, definitely PM material or a phone call. I rarely tracked the S2k, but my friends that did had plenty of opportunity to compare my ASTs to their Fortunes, KW3s, Buddy Clubs, HKS, Tein, etc. Let's just say that I could go 1G sustained in a high speed sweeper on the way to work and still hit a...
Hey, had them- loved them. Great value for the 5. My thread below:

You can get the ride to actually be smoother than stock. Are the "extreme low" a different version?
Hey, you're welcome. I actually liked the ride with the BCs more than the factory suspension- even though the spring rates were higher, the damping was better- so the ride was more controlled. Once I got the stiffness settings sorted out on the dampers, the ride was actually smoother than stock...
Oh, and yesterday I pondered the choices I've made with the 5, and why I haven't truly put it up for sale yet. My wife told me that a random guy (local lawn crew) came by on Thursday to ask if it was for sale- she said it was up to me to sell. My neighbor wonders why it's still sitting in the...
