A few years ago I got to drive an Audi R8 and Ferrari 458 back to back in Las Vegas (around a track). The Audi was a nice car but I still found myself irritated at the steering wheel paddles because I couldn’t always find them in turns. The 458 with fixed paddles was an absolutely joy and the...
Rear differential and transfer case are a no brainer for me, mainly because I’ve always stuck with 30k intervals on my other vehicles under relatively “severe service” with good results. And though my wife’s cx-5 doesn’t quite see the same duty as my work trucks or weekend toys, the differential...
At about 26k miles on our ‘19 touring awd, and am planning on having front transfer case and rear differential oils changed at 30k (with next engine oil service). Might it be a good idea to have the transmission serviced at the same time? Thinking more along lines of drain, refill, and filter...
Biggest thing is to check fluids. Pop open oil cap and see if there’s sludge/buildup. Check tranny fluid and be sure it fairly clean and doesn’t smell burnt. If possible so the same for diff/transfer case. If all of these check out, it’s indicative of proper maintenance with quality oils and...
Yes, but it could also be far easier than you’d think as well. Will never know unless attempted.
1.True it’s a safety feature, but it’s also very possible that the seats are easily interchangeable as well. The seat belts/pretensioners are independent of the seats, and long as original belts &...
Two main differences I noticed...
First, the steering on our awd seems to have a little more weight and feel than the fwd loaner we got, as well as better turn-in. Secondly, the awd feels torquier like maybe it has a shorter final drive ratio.
Even my wife said she noticed a difference and...
They actually didn’t do a horrible job. All of the little cubes of shattered safety glass were gone (unsure about behind headliner but will check somehow), but there are still little tiny shards (looks like glitter) scattered around interior...ie in cup holders, armrest pockets, between console...
Yeah I sat in a GTR yesterday and the seats did seem more comfortable than our touring. The seats in the cx-9 signature next to it were ALOT more comfortable than our seats. Took a quick look (no measurements) and it seems the seat mounting is very similar if not identical between the two.
If...
Crack your front window open...it’ll fix it. This happens on most newer “aerodynamic” cars it seems. No issue on my older bmw or either of the trucks, but the ctsv and cx5 have the same issue
Just picked up our cx5 with new tinted sunroof. Warranty repair cost was around $600 parts & labor, and customer pay would have likely been 2-300 more. Dealer could have done a better job cleaning up glass in interior, but overall quite satisfied with how things were handled.
