Last week my wife and I were at an evening showing of Return of the King in Maryville, and were walking to her car which, as is proper, was parked way off yonder to avoid dings and dents. As we got closer I thought I was seeing double -- 2 spicy orange MSP's?? Too good to be true! But it was...
Bullett was just awesome. I still remember the first time I saw that car chase scene. Way too cool. But the Blues brothers is monstrously cool as well, right behind it at #2 in my opinion.
I'm a big fan of the MSP -- I don't know what all the problems are everyone alludes to. This is my 7th car and the MSP is by far the best I've owned. Problems I've had: windshield cracked (which mazda replaced under warranty), radio broke x2, also replaced under warranty. That's it after a...
Greetings y'all:
My brother lives in Charlotte, NC, and is looking to buy an MSP (preferably a black one)... I called Hall Mazda in Va Beach (where I bought my spicy msp a year ago) and they are still selling them for $23K ... which is more than I payed a year ago. Does anyone know any...
I say it's a Mazdaspeed Protege... and then everybody just looks at you. I say: it's the factory hot rod version of the protege. And they say "Oh", and look disinterested. Unless they know what it is, and then they say: "Sweet! Can I see/ ride in/drive it?"
The EVO VIII is 4WD... and yes, I want one. It would look nice parked next to the MSP...
Anybody see SCC this month? The MSP was listed as one of their 8 great buys under $30K
Agreed agreed agreed. Reality TV is the curse of the masses, shackling them to a TV instead of actually doing something different. My personal weakness is cartoon network and Speed TV... probably like most people on this forum!
Oh yeah... a '91 miata is old? That's my daily driver and I don't complain a bit about it (less problems with it than my mazdaspeed, and the top comes off)... although I do wish I could get someone to buy me a new one!
For the orignal poster... the MSP is a remarkably quick car. You have to auto-x it or take it to a track day at a road course before you feel you were jipped. You'll be amazed at how much front bite you get, how quick the car transitions, and how easy it is to step the tail out without losing...
The sRT-8 looks like a step in the right direction for an American automaker... like it or hate it, the neon SRT-4 is the first real american peformance car that the average Joe can afford (excepting maybe the Camaro SS -- let the flaming begin). Nice to see Dodge at least trying something new...
Keith, in reply to your question I have a daily driver miata that I also auto-x... I am pretty used to a stiff suspension, though... it won't be used for many long trips, etc...
I'll eventually put a roll bar in, too, and use it on track days
Hmmm, let me continue along the same vein...
I auto-x my '91 in E-stock... what changes (other than the Jackson Racing Cat-back exhaust and intake) do you guys recommend?
Thanks!

Kept it stock... although it has been replaced twice under warranty already!!! At least they fix it, though! :)
Everyone who rides in the car likes it, though...
I was talking about track days, but thanks for the input JohnJay5... I don't think my stock MSP would do too well at a drag event (especially with me driving... the whole reaction time thing is an issue...)! Now, throw some turns in there and I might do a little better... ;-)
122Vega: Did you...
