You didn’t say, but are you putting the vehicle in accessory mode (press start button twice) before trying to take it out of maintenance mode? And to confirm, the P light is illuminated on the dash? Press down on accelerator pedal, pull up on parking brake switch (light should be flashing on...
I have three of these, work great. They are a bit higher than the $38 I paid a few weeks ago. Not hard wired, runs off cigarette lighter. Has front and rear cameras, easy to run the wires, good app integration, excellent picture day and night.

I think this is an old recall. The pump on my 2018 was replaced 4 years ago on a recall. My 2019 shows no open or closed recalls related to the fuel pump.
You were right. I just checked both my 18 and 19 warmed up and they were on the low side. I added 200ml and that seemed to bring it into the proper range. I’ll check it in a few days to double check.
What’s odd is why we haven’t seen any transmission issues with the fluid being under filled...
Before you drain, check mark on dipstick. Then drain and refill with same amount and check dipstick. If the level is at the same mark on the dipstick, you are good. Before you start, if you get no or a low reading, then yes it’s under filled. It can’t be considered under filled if the dipstick...
It’s $9 a quart of trans fluid Aisin FZ on rock auto and 30 mins of work. You only need 4 quarts for a D&F unless you want to do it 3x. $36 and 30 mins…I don’t know what a dealer would be doing for $410.
No reason to keep it alive. Only thing you will have to do is reset your 1 touch window up and down for driver and passenger. Nothing else will be lost. I’ve replaced batteries on both my 18 and 19 cx-5s with Costco batteries.
Depends on how you do it. If you just remove the drain plug, about 3.2 quarts will come out. Never flush a transmission. The proper way is 3x drain and fill. There isn’t much need to drop the pan unless you are having significant shifting issues and want to check if any material is being...
I can’t explain it. All fluids need changing over time with varying intervals. I’m not a chemist, but I find it hard to believe Mazda really thinks you should never change your trans fluid, particularly when the unit has a disptick and drain plug, not to mention how easy it is to do.
The fluid does not have a lifetime warranty, it’s only warranted up to the powertrain warranty 6/60.
The transmission has a drain plug and a dipstick, along with a filter inside the pan so why they say it’s lifetime I cannot explain. Dont be scared to do it, it’s almost as easy as replacing...
Glad you got it fixed. Dealers have records of all work so clearly it was caused by them. I think they had no choice but to correct it.
Can the threads be retapped when this happens? Might just be cross threaded and a simple tap will correct it.
Depends on your driving habits. More city driving, faster brake wear. My son’s 18 has 33k miles and when I rotated the tires for him last week, I could see the rears were wearing down pretty good and will need to be changed soon. Fronts still had plenty of life.
I have a 2019 with 36k miles. I’m getting ready to do the first service on the transmission in about a month or two. I’m just doing a diy drain and fill. It’s a lot of labor to drop the pan to change the filter, mainly because it takes a lot of time to clean the mating surfaces. I just did a...
Just did a drain and fill. Couple of observations.
Dipstick reading was close to the top of the box cold from factory so that’s pretty full.
New fluid is blue/green, old coming out was black. I’ve never seen bluish trans fluid, only red, but never used FZ fluid before.
Only 3.2 quarts came...
Going to change the fluid in my 18 cx5 with 32k miles. It’s never been done before. I’m not dropping the pan, just a drain from the plug and fill. My question is can I just put in exactly what I took out? The process of checking the dipstick with car running isn’t so easy as the fans could be...
Interesting because the fluid is supposed to be lifetime, which we all know lifetime fluid is bs, but why would the transmission cause your car to be sluggish? Sluggishness is typically related to fuel or spark, not transmission. How does a trans fluid change make the car no longer sluggish...
We use these in our 18 and 19. Fit and wear well. Have had them a few years now.
