If you find a way, you'd make a killing. There is a guy who reflashes Evo 8 ECUs, travels around the country, loads his basemap w/ better timing and fuel curve for $250 a pop. Takes him 10 minutes. When he comes to a city, he's almost guarenteed 8-10 customers.
Does he have a FCD? I know you mentioned he hit fuel cut, but you can still hit it at 17psi with Joe's FCD. If he doesn't have one, he will probably be fine believe it or not. The ECU won't let that much air in at higher rpms. Boosting 17psi before 4500krpm is doable.
Most likely they will get approval to fix it. They asked me the same questions about oil changes when I blew mine, even asked for receipts. I didn't have any, but it was fixed anyway.
Yeah, usually they weld rods to the canister for the exhaust hangers... but since it's wrapped in carbon fiber, it comes with the clamp and you weld a rod to that. :)
The megan canister is actually nice quality (real carbon fiber & titanium), and sounds just as good... not to mention, half the price. :) However, you can choose whatever brand muffler you want if you were to get a Billet Design exhaust, just might cost more.
