I smoothed out my car considerably...I think. TIP/IC and it seems much more smooth under partial throttle applications (normal DD in city conditions). Although it certainly doesn't seem any faster lol.
just opened the box. I was giving them s*** for the "update" with the custom box...but it is actually pretty nice. Not sure I'm in love with the finish...but the cooling fins go all the way to the end tanks...so that's good lol.
Noticed a tire bubble on my sidewall of driver's front yesterday after work. No idea how long it's been there, but I've hit some pretty aggressive pot-holes on the oh-so-smooth roads/streets of milwaukee. pretty sure that did it. Regardless, what a PITA. sure they are all seasons and suck...but...
Sorry OP.
MSMS3, I see what you're saying. I guess I'll go back and say that you were right and I was wrong, to a degree. Under normal conditions like modest DDing, the stock IC is fine. If you are going to do anything outside of that (get aggressive for a decent period of time) at the track or...
Right, if you are talking about thousands of a second...maybe you meant tenths...which, either way, is within margin of error/conditions etc. real proven results, dyno back to back. Actually CP-e just did that...and made more power everywhere on the tach, all other things being equal.
does it not stand to reason that if the car with the upgraded IC pulls better numbers with 0 airflow over X amt of runs vs stock; one with adequate airflow would be that much better? I don't know how many ways you can slice and dice the numbers...but I've seen more logs showing an increase in...
I would guess it's hit or miss on success with trying to get things covered by warranty...but like MSMS3 said, any dealer/mechanic/shop worth half a s*** is going to be able to tell if your car is newly back to stock.
Looks good. I would've kept the hatch too, however. I really like the sti hatches. I am going through a back to stock/sell/trade situation myself. Bored with the ms3 and done with fwd. not to hijack...sti looks good
I know mechanics that don't even change their own oil. For me, it just isn't worth the time and hassle. I pay $60 for a full synth oil change with a hand wash and towel dry. It takes about 20 minutes total. To me, that's absolutely worth it.
as pleasant as that sounds...anyone have suggestions for clutch/fly that won't be absurd w/ trz rmm/transmount? I'm guessing I'm SOL on that, but replacing with factory is spendy. I've looked on rockauto for an on the cheap solution, but I honestly don't know what all parts I would need from...
I understand where you are coming from regarding parameters across companies. Kind of like the uselessness of Dynamic Contrast Ratio on a tv (Sony Bravia Infinity:1 comes to mind)...
I think the basic claims of all manufacturers are the same for IC's, Pressure drop, therm eff, hp/tq gains. To...
just over 42k on the car. It isn't real serious yet. but it happens pretty easily under heavy load in 3-4...& 5. Nothing too concerning for DD use, but it will certainly slip during a spirited ratchet through the gates.
Unfortunately I do not have the tools/knowledge to pull off the update...
