Skyactiv Owners - Who is on their Original Belt Tensioner?

The two mounts accessible from the top can be done without a lift, if you can find a buddy to help out. If your buddy is low-profile, it is also possible to replace the dog bone at the center/bottom with jack and stands. The pictures I took aren't very clear. At the time I thought they were to...

Skyactiv Owners - Who is on their Original Belt Tensioner?

The quote I got from a highly rated medium size shop for all 3 mounts was $1,250 (parts/labor as shown in the quote). I paid $305 for OEM mounts including tax. I have to check my earlier post to see how much time it took. I recall the transmission bottom mount and passenger side mount were...

Skyactiv Owners - Who is on their Original Belt Tensioner?

If it weren't for you, we were gonna find out at what point the belt finally snaps and leaves me stranded, 190K or 200K... 😂 🙏 The transmission service was done last year. Shocks/struts and motor mounts were all replaced around the same time. I will ask the mobile mechanic to check on the VC...

Skyactiv Owners - Who is on their Original Belt Tensioner?

Here is the og serpentine belt after 181,524 miles. The inner layer is thoroughly cracked. The outer layer is still holding strong. 😂 The water pump belt does not show any sign of distress. The mechanic said the tensioner wasn't leaking but the movement was not smooth. They completed the job...

What have you done to your CX-3 today?

This is the panel that fits securely with magnets (5mm thickness) bolted to 4 corners, and 3 rubber foam strips (6mm thickness) going from side to side. The strip in the very front is to prevent air from going straight under the panel and potentially lifting it off. The other two act as cushions...

Don't think it will ever slide forward to hit the wind shield but I have these pieces to secure it. O-rings are gaskets from the oil filter holder/cradle on my R56.

All this to power a BT speaker to blast music while I work.

The junction box is held back by the last bungee in the back. This way it is easier for me to pull it out from the hatch.

What have you done to your CX-3 today?

The curves of the roof makes it hard for this 100w panel to stay planted with magnets. Even with weather stripping foam strips going from side to side, there's still a bit bounce, i.e., when you press on this side, the other side lifts slightly. Alien tape can hold it down but I don't want to...
