As earlier posted by sm1ke, go for the AWD...the benefits and small added cost outweigh the inconveniences and maintenance cost. Even if not needed in Cali, the AWD also increases the resale/trade value down the road. Another plus is the desirability of AWD in SUVs...who knows in future you...

Just to close off this thread, my infotainment screen was replaced by my dealer last weekend under warranty that was approved by Mazda Cda. Now looks perfect and brand new!

Maybe a better decision for Mazda to avoid future warranty issues but the vibration issues I think are isolated and not as significant in numbers especially after their recall update done back in 2019. I’ve had no vibration issues in the previous and current CDA engines that I have (knock on wood)!

Also check to make sure the air recirculation mode is set to “return” or circulate within cabin and not take fresh air from outside. Sometimes the auto climate control can go into fresh air intake when temp is set to 22deg...

Drive normally like anywhere from 2-4K rpm but try to not go beyond that within first 1000Kms...not normal driving of 5K rpm to redline! LOL

In some angles this new MDX appear to have borrowed some design cues from CX-9 (long hood, front end, side profile, etc) which isn’t a bad thing considering Mazda makes amazing designs. The price tag is just too steep at $60K vs a CX9 Signature at $45K-ish?! Of course different markets as MDX...

No specified break-in procedures by Mazda but just like any new vehicle, recommended to not race engine above 4K rpm during 1st 1000kms; not to stay on 1 gear for extended period of time, & no sudden or hard braking

It’ll depend in your area if AWD is needed but for most part a FWD vehicle is good enough. I wouldn’t worry too much about the MPG advantage on a FWD vs AWD as not huge of a diff. IMO I would consider though the resale value...while you save $2-3K for a FWD, you’ll get that back in an AWD when...
