The NSN injectors will sit at a little of an angle but they seal up properly, so I'm not quite sure why you are concerned or worried about them. As long as there is not a vacuum leak around the injector then there is no issues with them sitting a little off. There are ways to shim them etc...
Damn nice photo...
those plugs are running a bit too hot. the white should not be making it past the knee on the anode steel. The brown on the insulator is fine, and you should see more of that on the anode as well. 2 and 4 seem particularily hot, but 1 and 3 are ab it hot too... the...
Yeah, running the O2 and MAF option when another device controls those things like an AFC is a bad idea overall. So that would likely be the root cause.
John is still making a few here and there for the Protege's. The "new" unit design is nearly done though and the next generation will be...
The install takes about 10-30 minutes. very easy to install.
this isn't a timing control, just a knock prevention unit (which it retards timing to do basically), so the FTC and this aren't really in competition with one another. I use a safeguard with my Microtech and my Microtech has far...
by the time you get it to within a half inch of seated you are probably already in the splines. I have not had any problems ever with them stripping or getting damaged. usually that last half inch is fighting the pilot bearing if you are misalinged and the alignment sleeves on the block. If you...
No... in my opinion you don't use ANY ZFR series plugs. the problem isn't the heat range, it's the moved flame front which leads to the detonation. Coppers are what we use for everything. I don't like Platinum or Iridiums either as I have found they can hotspot to easily and lead to other...
added it to my sig as well... didn't even know that raffle section existed on the forums LOL.. Had to follow the links to figure out where the main thing was posted!
I don't disagree that they are great at idle and in cold weather etc, but under heavy loads they are bad news and most people will never "notice" the problem.
Any of the Z series plugs... any extened reach version etc. ZFR6F and ZFR7F being the main ones people use (the -11 just indicates the pre-gapping of the plug)
You won't need to detail this one either... LOL... anybody that has seen it in person knows I'm meticulous with buffing, cleaning etc... I even occasionally go to a toothbrush on the vents in the car to get rid of dust etc... I'm a little anal and it shows in the car :)
I've posted on this before... DO NOT USE THESE IN FI motors. The extended reach greatly increases your risk of detonation. We've watched it on the J&S safeguard switching betwen plugs there is a clear difference in detonation between them, the extended reaches are much more prone to it. Great...
