I would recommend installing chains on all four wheels if you have two sets.
If only 1 set, this guy explained it well.
• Snow chains mounted on all 4 with 4WD/AWD - ideal lateral stability, perfect acceleration, crisp steering, super braking. However, part time systems will show some...
Note that CX-30 does not have independent rear suspension like CX-5 has.
Big negative for me, but your own decision on that.
Emergency handling could be compromised...
not necessarily obvious in daily driving. Same for CX-50.
Yes. Tariff. Last time I checked while I was at a dealership.
That...
Even if yours is out of warranty... most dealers have a "goodwill account".
For special customers, SA (service advisor) can use it to get something fixed for free or share cost.
Be nice, and plea your case. The dealer I frequent has done that twice for my four Mazdas.
I did get the ext warranty...
Siggy,
If you have an AWD and all-season/snow tires... the chance of you needing to use chains is small.
Nowadays, if the road condition is bad enough that even AWD needs chains, they simply close the roads. My experiences. They want to be safe for everyone.
Please do carry them... If you have...
OP,
when I had a '08 CX9, I brought a hitch (3") from etrailer.com.
They sent me a slightly bent unit. Holes did not line up perfectly.
I managed to get it installer by gradually tightening the bolts alternatively.
Curt is a good brand. I thought I got the other one.
Don't remember it now.
Actually, $500+ is about what dealers charge for ATF drain-n-refile in CA. (SF Bay Area)
10 yrs ago, it was about $250.
Cost of living is very high here. Everyone needs to make a living.
Some might disagree, but this is a known issue for '16 and '17 Mazdas.
My '16 Mazda6 got it. My '17 CX-5 also got it.
100% failure rate among my four Mazdas.
The tensioner of my '14 Mazda3 still looks clean.
Note that, all my vehicles spend most nights in garage. CA warm weather.
Inferior OE...
My '17 CX5 (43k miles) just had this replaced (tensioner).
Dealer fixed it for free as a gesture of goodwill.
Dealer did charge me $200 for the belt, which was ridiculous.
Since the tensioner was replaced for free, I did not argue with them.
No difference how it drove before and after.
Sold it...
AFAIK, US models don't have SCBS-R, which is based on ultrasound parking sensors.
Models in other countries like Australia have it for years.
We, in USA, probably have lawyers to thank for that.
About the new in-house hybrid, here is some useful info from Best Car Japan website.

People said that when CX-50 came out in Jan/2022 as a 2023 model.
Two yrs later, CX5 is still dominating Mazda lineup.
Sales of CX-50 is about 60% of CX5.
One is not replacing the other....
Could just be the transmission logics.
Your '21 already learned your driving preferences.
The new '25 is still under factory setting, and not broken-in.
It will get better.
I mostly buy vehicles new and keep them for 7-8 yrs.
From my experiences, vehicles are at their happiest state at around...
My two cents here:
My view on any sort of insurances and warranties is:
When the worst happens, can you withstand the hit w/o incurring much pain financially?
If yes, no insurance or warranty is needed.
If no, please do it as a safety net for you and your love ones.
The threshold differs from...
